My mate who is a draft nut said that Wanganeen-Milera had mad skills but he'll head home as soon as his contract ends. If that's the pre-draft talk we must have heard it too. This guy literally said he'll not want to leave his family in SA. For a club that can't really afford big gambles it was quite a big one.

Armo and Steven were rotting away in the reserves until Watters came along. Stanley had 2 years and played 9 games under Lyon. Hardly massively developed. McEvoy was given plenty of development under Lyon though.
Well my mate said I’m having sex with Jennifer Lawrence. It may ou may not have been pre draft talk but if it was I’m 100% certain he asked the hard questions or do you think he is a complete moron? He hasn’t even gone yet but if he goes we might still win or draw with the pick we get for him.

Now development. If you think development is only playing senior footy then surely you are having a lend. Maybe Scott has no idea. How many games did de konning play early? And just so we get some true facts out here Steven and armo played 43 out of a possible 44 in 2011

Lyon was supposed to have hardly spoken to players outside the best 22. Not sure we were any good at it. The moment he was in a rebuild he took off for greener pastures.

That’s not the full story is it? But it does suit you. I can say with 100% certainty Jack Steven spoke to Ross Lyon. Strangely that didn’t help or hurt his footy.

Very PC world these days it seems

I don't know if it's ever been much different. It was churchy types stopping you being sacrilegious before that. Perhaps we just like telling others how to think and act. The right tell everyone to not have abortions and not to swear the left get pissy about pronouns and shit. We are all very simple minded position takers who plant our stakes and won't see another point of view. We're a bunch of well dressed primates.

Jack thought that Watters was a legend so not sure he's a great judge.

He seemed to be best mates with Robert Eddy though who was outside our best 22 but somehow kept getting picked even for finals.

It was frustrating watching him get games while more talented youngsters like Steven and Armitage kept being overlooked.

Eddy didn't last long after Ross left, I don't think he played another game for us while Steven and Armitage's careers took off.

David King with a round 1 overreaction with Flagpies and I think I might join him. I’m struggling to find a weakness with them and they play the most exciting style we’ve seen in years which is building some serious belief within. Helped by some key injuries to Geelong but they’ve got it all.

Is not sustainable, has a North 6ish years back kinda feel to it where Cats lead for 3/4 much like North did and then watch as the other mob get 10 goals and they lose the match in 20mins. Then a couple years later Cats also did the same thing in trailing for 3/4 then here's 10 goals and pinching a win in the last. By mid season none of this was happening and teams settled into what ended up being those seasons.

Umpires are terrible.

About as terrible as the skills on display, that centre bounce I believe both rucks missed it and it was a jogged clearance since they did a circle with handballs then stuffed it.

Park players could do better.

I think they look okay. North have a bit more heart with Clarko there. The Eagles have a very strong side in and are moving the ball faster than they used to. I'm enjoying tis game more than Carlton Richmond.

They're both not doing much, lot of running on the spot or looking like it's a struggle just to move forward with both sides and frankly, North should look slightly better, they were utterly abysmal and barely competitive. Tigs v Blues for example you had actual forced errors causing a fair chunk of issues in that game, this is like they're their own worst enemies.
