Okay what does "looping" mean? I thought I got it but I don't think I do. I've seen mention of having multiple non playing rookies for looping purposes, I don't understand what the benefit of more than one non playing rookie is

GWS were known as one of the stat padders in 2022 under Liam Cameron, do they play a different style under Adam Kingsley in 2023?

Looping basically gives you two chances for getting your captain right. For example say you VC Bont and he gets 110, you decide you want his score you put your non playing rookie on field with the C on and put a green dot on the bench with the emergency turned on for them, so when the non playing rookie plays you get the VC score and the bench score so win win.

You can also loop just for bench scores too but that’s a bit less common

Yeah they will be a different team Kingsley will be a great coach I have nothing but good things to say about him he was fantastic at the Tigers.

GWS played one of the uglier styles of football when Leon Cameron was there. I sense with a bit of clean out last season, they may change their game style in 2023. Less emphasis on the kick-mark chip style of game.

Thanks for explaining. I understood the captain part but seeing talk of looping multiple players confused me, but I get it now

The term 'SSP' gets thrown alot in Supercoach AFL , was reading from HoneyBall Supercoach magazine. Does anyone know what that specifically means?

Supplemental selection. A player taken outslde of the national and rookie drafts, during the mid year draft

I have $666,200 available cap space after selecting my full team of 30 players. Should ideally one look to select a team that uses close to the full salary cap?
I'd try keep remaining funds under 100k personally, if you're going for only league wins having a ton spare is maybe ok but for overall score it's way too many lost points to catch up on.

There are many approaches. One of them is to have a sick amount of money in hand, like you do.

It depends on your goals.

If you are trying to win a league with a few strong players and a bunch of nuffies, I think your way can work. You make extra salary cap and your finished team can be epic, and you made the finals because your league is full of spuds. Now you annihilate the finals series.

If you are trying to win a competitive league, or do well overall - I'd recommend spending more and trying to score well in the early rounds

I think I might use those funds to bring in someone experienced and proven like Clayton Oliver and take out one of my rookies like M.Johnson from Fremantle then.

that is exactly what you should do

Thankfully I only have 1 in Tom Green playing in midfield.

He averaged 97.10 last season and with Taranto and Hopper gone, I expect him to get more CBA. honeyball Twitter also mentioned he had a 50 disposal game in practice.
Not a bad option, I'd rather spend the extra and get Josh Kelly.
