Got a bad feeling TG is leaving.
He does say he loves it here, have no doubt the club has thrown the dollars at him.
So why no sig? He is still early in his career. Not like Cogs or Chook with their last deals.
Met a family member at the Boxing Day test at a function would you believe, told me he absolutely loves Sydney and the club. Gave the impression the boys are very tight and have a wonderful bond and culture. He was a bit critical of our past lack of game style and lack of a definitive style but that is changing. Don’t think he’s going anywhere.

Personally the one I’m still concerned with is Callaghan. I have no insights as to whether he stays or leaves but he is from a strong Melbourne family and his GF from there although unsure if she is now Sydney based. For mine he is the jewel in the crown and a must keep.

Also, surely Taranto and Hopper leaving means the club has the space to lock him up.

It's smart of him to wait to see what happens with the new coach. It's also smart of him to figure out what his role looks like without Hopper and Taranto.

I'm not worried he hasn't committed at this point, but will be come round 12-13, particularly if we're not just in the bottom four, but playing like we deserve to be.

I'm with Andre the Giant - Callaghan is a big question. But also, I want to see more of him before we offer him anything too crazy. He could/should be pushing for first 22 this year if he's fit, but he needs to step up and stay fit!

We will have at least 6 VIC teams pushing his price up.
Would be amazing to sign him and Tom Green/Ash ahead of the season start so members have something and some people to invest in for the future of the club.

I’d be shocked if Finn is signed before round 18. He has had an interrupted two years and will want to put some stats up that reflect his desired price rise

No way he signs before the bye without good numbers on the board to ask for more imo

Are they all turning 18 this year?
So they weren't not drafted last year.
Where are they from
This year's draft, so 18.

The Phase 1 Academy Squad announcement states age groups & where they're from:

Matthew Brown = Western Sydney training group (but the video below states he drives in 3.5 hours from Orange)
Charlie McCormack = Riverina area
Harvey Thomas = Riverina area

(Note: the phase 1 is from October, before the ND, so it names Harry Rowston & Nick Madden! :))

This vid from the club talks about them a little.

Always risk/reward. If he has another injury then he’ll get less

For the sake of the club hope you are right.

Phil Davis ^
Matt Flynn +
Harry Himmelberg +
Lachie Keeffe ^
Daniel Lloyd
Callan Ward
Jacob Wehr ^

Restricted free agent = +
Previously delisted = ^

Haven't we technically delisted Dan Lloyd? He went from the main list to rookie list - was that the COVID-affected year where clubs were allowed to move them directly without delisting? I would have thought that they would still have counted that as being delisted (effectively it was).

Is anyone else surprised that Matt Flynn is an RFA?

Dont think anyone except HH will get interest, Flynn would need to have a good year (10-15 games playing well) to get interest and then he would only jopin the back up ruck merry go round
So Flynn is in the top 25% on the list? It is possible with approx 15 players on rookie/base contracts and 8 on high $ contracts and with the ability to back end contracts so if he does have a good year the club still has some leverage. Could be the same case with Lloyd

Early season article on likely high draft picks - I'm sure if you follow PMBangers and other draftwatchers on BF you'll read a lot about these guys this year.

A Zane Duursma and Archer Reid combo is the dream currently, although Dan Curtin would fit us nicely as another talented WA Key Defender

We'll just take Harley Reid with the Richmond pick at 1, and see who is around for our pick at 18 (before academy and father sons)

it's pre-season, the time to dream

Add me to the missing persons list if we snag Harley through Richmonds pick

Little snippet from The Age's article on 2021 rookies
"Negotiations are also progressing well on new deals for midfielders Callaghan and Sheldrick"
