Hmmm he has a lot of family connections to Richmond.

Would hope so, hopefully he signs quickly
Whilst his grandfather played for Richmond and he’s got an extended family there who are Tiger supporters, Tom went to school at Marist, a boys catholic school here in Canberra. He is from our Academy, and his mates in Canberra have a Tom Green Fan Club tent whenever GWS plays in Canberra. Tom also has said very positive stuff about GWS and not expressed any unhappiness (at least in public or in any media rumours) about his time here. Of Ash, Callaghan, Himmelberg and Tom, the two most likely to extend due to the “Go Home” factor are Tom and Himmelberg? The contract talks with Callaghan seems to be going fine based on the public statements by Jason McCartney.

This has Tom Green feels about it.

I remember all the Richmond fans screaming that this wasn’t like North fans and Kelly. As they aren’t North so Green will come.

Well. Well.
Tbf, them taking Timmy and Jacob probably helped us a lot in resigning this year do we shouldn’t be too harsh on them

Still I’d rather have Tom than Jacob if it was a choice so good on us!!!!

Good to get Greens signature before the season starts although by the sounds of it not the hardest to get but still well done to those involved and he has 4 years to get to be the #1 inside mid in the game
Still 3 to go and not sure how they play out but I think Finn will be next with likely the club has a fair deal in front of him although it may be improved depending on his early season form
HH is hard to read as it should be a formality but after his form in the back half i can see some clubs upping offers for him and it is the contract that sets him up for life and not sure what the club will be offering contract wise but I cant see much over 600K unless he is on track for a 50 goal season. I think Mcstay got 650 pa to move to the Pies and I would value HH about the same but hopefully by the time the club has the bye the above 3 are signed
Ash will need a solid season as I think he has underperformed but i think it is likely down to the disrupted seasons with covid and then also the coaching change and then not settling in a prefered position. Based on his form of last year I can see a 500k contract for him so maybe if a club sees potential they may offer 600k but he would need to show a lot imo

Mcstay has never kicked 30 goals in a season and HH has done that multiple times, HH is going to get paid especially as a KPF because they aren't growing on trees and are hard to come by. Finn seems pretty far down the track at this point which is good not sure how much of the contract is going to change with how he plays, Jason talking about it publically like that means it'd be quite far down the line of getting an extension sorted. Really don't think we've seen the best of Ash, he just isn't a winger and got played there for a good chunk of the last 2 years, one of the guys I'm most excited to see this year.

Whilst it would be great to have all 3: (1) Himmelberg will be the hardest get as there will be more interest from other clubs, and as you said, this is the contract that will set him up for life. Hopefully, like Tom Green the “go home” factor will work for us!
(2) All the news so far seem positive on us retaining Callaghan
(3) early days yet, but no news on Ash?

We may need to wait awhile before Himmelberg makes a decision. His agent was stating Adelaide as an option, given family members who are there including his brother
Just his agent trying to use another team as leverage to get a better deal for his client, nothing surprising

If the players believe there will be success they will stay

I see this season as pivotal. I hope the game plan is something we can capitalize on and shoot up the ladder while the senior players are still this side of 30

If it doesn’t work, players like ash and Harry will see the writing on the wall, knowing we will bottom out and leave

Agree that this is a pivotal season with Adam introducing his new game plans. And it seems that the same agent who is representing Himmelberg, is representing Ash and Callaghan? They seem to indicate that they will see how things work out with Adam, before committing longer term to us
