Reading the last two pages, sounds like Doedee for NWM should be what we are looking at. Fair deal? Or need eveners? How much eveners, I'm hoping its only a third rounder if at all so we can still keep first and second round x2.

Doedee would go as a RFA ....so we won't get more than a 2nd round ....then we have to take a risk with that pick & spend another 4 years developing him (hopefully)

Then we need better development coaches or recruiters
He would be getting overs at Adelaide so if he wants to move. he will be taking a pay cut
Our recruiters are good at finding flankers, it's all the other spots they struggle with

I was literally thinking this and in regards to Roo, McLeod and Hart
Hart is an outlier but still we played him
Mcleod had played 60 games by his 21st birthday (and 2 Norms)
Roo had 80+ games at 21

& in a rebuild there is no excuse to prioritise getting games into out best young talent so they get to 50+ games asap.

Last player we need is Redman ....he wouldn't even get a mention as a need, if he wasn't Sth Aust
If we didn't play Dawson in defence, we'd be desperate for a great rebounder like him. Particularly with Smith now aging and Milera/Parnell/Hamill etc not exactly proven

If you can bring in quality players via free trade I’m all for it. So far our recruits have cost us draft capital, we really do need to start cashing in with 1-2 free agents.
It’s a shame that there doesn’t seem to be any real gettable midfield FAs in the coming seasons - well, ones that are worth chasing, ie A graders or better

Nah, you don't build balanced lists by bringing in whoever's available .....that's the ESS approach to list management
They didn't need Shiel .....but he was available & a big coup for the Club .....not !
CARL lured Williams with a promise of a midfield role .....that lasted all of about half a season ....now CARL are stuck with him, and Williams never got the role he coveted
Whilst Redman, and Pickett are a no for me .....I can see the value of chasing Brennan Cox, now McAsey has departed

They did need quality mids, at the time Parish wasn’t doing a lot and the Essendon midfield wasn’t great. They just misjudged how good Shiel was and he hasn’t performed well at Essendon.
Williams is a half back, had they brought him in as a half back it would have been a win.
We currently don’t have many running half backs, Smith only has a few years left, we hope Milera will make it but he’s an unknown and it might mean we play Dawson on the wing.
I understand the need for list balance, I’ve been banging on about it since the draft.
Yes we definitely need a Cox type but he isn’t a free agent and is going to cost us draft collateral. Himmelberg and retain our first would be the better option.

Himmelberg is the man to chase .....Cox is another dour backman, we already have Murray / Butts
Himmelberg is an attacking beast, with an accurate 60mtr kick on him
