2023 Membership Talk

I contacted our membership department several times this year for info but specifically twice approx. 4-5 weeks ago when rounds 1-15 ticket dates were released. I explained I am coming over (from WA) for Anzac day and asked specifically when were the Anzac Tickets becoming available as I am also coming with friends and didn't want to miss out. After two calls and over 3-4 hrs being on hold I was told different dates and information which confused things even more.

Both times I was told the wrong dates and that I would be able to purchase a reduced amount of guest tickets (with my memberships) due to the specific round. From then I have been keeping an eye on the Ticketek site every couple of days for updates just encase they get released. The only reason I was able to secure some general admission tickets (in the nose bleed) for insurance was due to the fact I was continually looking at Ticketek everyday from the start and noticed general public seats were up and disappearing fast.

Even though I have these other tickets I'm pi55ed off today when i received my Collingwood email that states no Guest passes will be available tomorrow when my membership seats go live. Information that would have been useful weeks ago. I find this sort of rubbish amateurish and very unprofessional by the club. I understand Anzac Day is a huge sold out game but I started this process months ago to try and secure my best options for tickets. If I had of known I would have purchased other packages weeks ago for me and my friends. Now I have to watch the game through binoculars.

Sounds like you’re an AFL member (with collingwood club support) not a collingwood member.

If that’s the case, not sure collingwood membership is to blame.

Tell Richmond to get ****ed. How about relocating all your members to the Punt Road End instead and leave us alone.

As Legends members, we're paying close to a $1,000 a year to have Home AND Away reserved seats. The club isn't going to let this go if they know membership revenue is at stake.

We've been in the Ponsford End since 2005, emulated the atmosphere of Victoria Park as best as we can and the combination of a packed AFL members and Ponsford End for an away game is a formidable sight to behold.

In addition, I don't want to change my username :p
Exactly. To have 15,000 black and white fans at the ponsford stand and 12,000 in the afl members (1 out of 6 afl members are Collingwood supporters) is a sight to behold. On Friday nights game v geelong it was like a Collingwood home game. Easily 50,000 Collingwood fans were at the g that night with the ponsford stand, afl members and MCC members packed mostly of Collingwood supporters.

Seriously no other club in Victoria draws as many of there supporters to there away games like collingwood!!

Geelong fc can thank collingwood supporters for the 86,000 fans. If they played any other big 4 club they would of drawn 70-75,000

Apologies if this has already been asked.

I switched to a general admission membership this year, I got two, one for myself and my partner. Last week I upgraded which was fine but this week I'm just gonna head in. I got the two GA tickets in my wallet but they are located in different seats, do I need to contact the club to get these seats together?

Dare I say it, Geelong would prefer to play at home and take the 4 points.

This is for AFL members. Not sure I believe them as I have friends that are AFL members for other clubs and they got their pack in February.

Normally we receive something from the club as Club Support member but this year nothing so I wrote to the club and this is their reply.

Thank you for your enquiry, and for your patience. We are working through a high volume of emails at the moment.

Unfortunately, there was a league-wide issue with AFL Club Support membership packs. In short, there was a technical issue that was preventing the necessary data from flowing from the AFL Membership Services' database into club databases.

The AFL's technical team worked on this issue as a priority, and have now been able to resolve the issue.

We will be including all delayed AFL club support memberships in the next file sent to the mailhouse for processing.

Thank you for your patience here.

Not sure if this has been asked, without trawling back through pages, just purchased additional membership, Pies Kayo digital subscription, no link in my email? How do I access Kayo and activate the membership?
Thanks in advance.

Doesn't really exist to the point it used to, but having that, you can enter the legends room on level 2 in the ponsford.

Okay Thanks.

Was not sure where it was.

Do you have to pay for FOOD there?

Free dim sims should be the standard there. Cheapskates though mate.
I dip my fried in hot english mustard. Steamed with soy sauce.

Country pubs still give this sort of thing free.
Legends making plenty off memberships.

There's nothing better than a stadium packed with Pies fans. As Darcy Moore put it, the Magpie Army is the team's '19th player'.

sometimes, however, you can't get to the game - which is why we've launched our new Seat Return program!

If you can't attend an MCG home game, the Seat Return program can earn you credit on next season's membership renewal!

What is the Seat Return program?

Our Seat Returns program allows members who hold a reserved seat for MCG home games to return their seat or seats for re-sale via Ticketek if they're unable to attend a given match.

For example, if you cannot attend this Friday's match against Richmond, you could 'return' your seat for that game - and that game only - leaving your membership unaltered for other matches.
If you return your reserved seat and it is successfully re-sold to another patron via Ticketek, you will be awarded a credit towards your 2024 membership renewal!
What's more, your returned seat will only be sold to Collingwood FC members or fans to maintain the amazing atmosphere of our member areas.

For a full explanation of the Seat Returns program, a breakdown of the re-sale credit available for each MCG home game, and a step-by-step visual guide, click the button below 👇

(sorry this might be mentioned in the thread somewhere already. I had posted the same in the Membership thread.)

OMG!!! A MEMBERSHIP CAP IS NOW A F**KING "ADD-ON". WHAT!....THE!..... F.U.C.K!!!

(I'm going to f***king vent now on how disappointed I am with the membership dept of our club)

I'm an AFL Gold member with club support, of which previously was a direct member. It's been 19 yrs of continual membership, which doesn't include the days back in the 80's being a kid when my Dad paid for me and going to games. Being 54 years old (this year), it's easy over 25 yrs of membership to the Collingwood Football. I am also an AFLW member too. My daughter is a member and I signed her up on the day she was born 7yrs ago.

I mention this purely to give weight to my opinion and feeling of how disgusted I am with whoever / or dept made the call NOT to supply a membership cap with my membership ... and is now an "add-on". WTF!?! The length of my membership shouldn't, I might add, give me any more rights to being disgusted than if you're 1 yr member or a 1000 yr member in the same boat. We should all be disgusted!!!

There was a delay in receiving this years club support membership pack. I only just received it! The club blamed the AFL for this, which they said something about the AFL not passing on the AFL member details to the club. I have no f***king clue how hard this can be, as I'm an auto top up each year so whilst extremely disappointed in the delay ... coz it's now Round f**king 4!!!! ..... I just had to suck it up. Whether it was the AFL, Collingwood or TicketMaster (coz they host the membership) that was the issue, I'll never know.

BUT NOW, HAVING FINALLY RECEIVED MY PACK AND THERE'S NO CAP, I AM F**KING FUMING!!!!! THIS PART I DO KNOW.

I rang the club and spoke to customer support who advised of the change. Ironically I was at Vic Park having a kick when they called back. I will email the club with my disappointment, to which I will reference this forum thread.

I would appreciate a thumbs up in acknowledgement to this post, if you believe this is wrong, so the club can see the weight of numbers that this is unfair and disrespectful, to all members. IMO ALL MEMBERSHIPS SHOULD BE PROVIDED AT A MINIMUM A CLUB MEMBERSHIP CAP. Please provide suitable comments if you feel like.

I do not care for the scarf, stickers, sew on badge of YOS being a member, or lanyard to card they don't even provide (unless requested). I ONLY CARE FOR WEARING MY CAP EACH AND EVERY F***KING YEAR!!! It's my badge of honour and privilege to wear it. It's a proud promotion and I love seeing other members at a glance when I go to games. It's my choice to pay for a membership, and in my eyes it doesn't make me a "better" supporter, but, I do expect a common membership item in getting a simple cap that the membership should cover the cost of.

I cannot recall seeing any notification to advise of the change. The customer support person, could also not verify of any communications being sent out. Please note I even filled out the club's membership feedback last year, that they should make it optional for all the items I don't want as it's a waste. I just want my cap which should be right of every paid member at a mimimum. I'd gladly just pick it up from the game like we used to do prior to the pandemic if they want to save on postage.

Thanks for your time if you read this far.

Appreciate any support and thoughts?
