Stringer's 80% CBAs have changed the mix a bit. Shiel has gone fwd, Zerrett got pushed out when they needed a big body in there on danger, which was Setters. Prob see where it lands next 2 weeks with the mix, but I can see Parish and Stringer chewing up a lot of the CBAs with Setters pushed out of the rotation more and Zerrett a mix of CBA / wing

How do we ignore Steele at 537k? Absolute bargain, worth a boost? Wont get much cheaper than this!
126 BE and I'm still not convinced his arm is going to stay attached to his body.

I'd get one more look at him, personally

I see it similarly .....ESS were trying to find a place to hide Setterfield last week ....was that an event, or a future trend, back to a WING ???

Chad Warner at 484k, real good value imo.

Can score big, but can also score poor, there is no real inbetween.

Collingwood
Freo
Norf
Carlton

All dont tag, usually leak scores to oppo mids..

Grab him now, or grab him next week at $550k max.

Should be a free 120+ score vs Norf though.

He's just not consistent. This year the same as last. Regularly drops 50s/60s/70s/80s, in amongst his big scores. Would be frustrating.

I do think the Swans will bounce back and start winning soon, but I reckon he'd piss me off big time.

I prefer Hewett at the same price. Lower ceiling, but higher floor. Looks to be fit again. Averaged 110 last year.

Petracca or Cripps is going to keep me flip flopping between the two all week. Leaning toward Cripps.

Trac might get DPP but I still doubt it, and he's very capable of a stinker. Cripps I dont plan on owning any other Carlton premiums so it makes sense to get him.

ATM Trac is going to be like Macrae where they're straight into the midfield even without the CBA most of the time, so even with lower CBA's they wont reach the threshold for DPP.

I think Cripps is a better option if Pittonet keeps rucking.

Similar conundrum, but I'm leaning Petracca as he has a better bye. Don't think I can afford to bring in another R15 bye player.

Petracca gets points for durability over Crippled, too.

Having Green, Hopper and Newcombe is a bit of a dilemma. Happy with the output from all 3, but can't imagine having them M-6, M7 and M8 with a finished side.

The positive in the mean time is that it's allowed me to focus on fixing my defence and forward lines which are looking far stronger. Jumped from an overall rank of 35 628 in round 4 to 8854 in round 7 largely due to the acquisitions of Stewart and Sinclair, facilitated by the form of Newcombe and Hopper who had speculative output after round 1.

For now, 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it'. Zero idea what my finished midfield will look like though. At least it isn't boring this year.

I’m in a similar dilemma with Macrae, Newcombe and Hopper, ideally they’ll all be luxury trades, but I can’t imagine I’ll have enough left to do all 3.

For now though as long as they keep hovering around 90-110 I think I’ll be able to make up ground by upgrading elsewhere.

Hopper (90avg) and Newcombe (95) are in a different basket to Green (109) and Macrae (107).

I think getting a 107-109 avg from your M7 and M8 would be just fine?

Hell, there's only 11 mids in the comp averaging over 110 at present. 9 if we remove the 2 DPPs (Dawson and Taranto).

Yeah, I currently feel as though Hopper is the most expendable. I didn't select him expecting him to be a keeper. Newcombe on the other hand, I had predicted a rise from his average of 87 to around 95 and the potential to be M8 come seasons end. He's currently tracking exactly as I'd hoped.

Will see how things are sitting around the byes.

100% this.

Last season only 14 MIDS went above 110 average (only 4 above 120).

So many of those 14 MIDS are having down years (Neale, Touk, Brayshaw, Hewett, etc).

~105 average is fine for M5-M8 tbh. As long as you have the big boys in front of them (Oliver, Bont, Laird, and then another ~115er), you're good.

IMO Hopper is a hold until his bye unless injured.

Seriously doubt he gets it. He wasn't doing much at all last week against the big bodied Geelong mids and Stringer was on absolute fire in the middle so they did that to get Stringer CBAs.

Was more just a gameday reaction from Scott to being 6 goals down in the first quarter.

Is Stringer going to keep that role you think? 🤔
