Everyone talking about more cbas for Tom green/Cogs with hopper, Taranto and Leon Cameron gone, but what is josh Kelly's role gonna be?

43%, 49% & 47% cbas in last three seasons. Could explode if he moves from wing to inside mid or gain DPP like he did in 2021 if played elsewhere.
Realistically who plays wing for GWS outside of Kelly? Most on the Giants board seem to think Perryman plays more inside minutes and less wing than he's done in the past. I guess it depends where Whitfield lines up. Callaghan maybe takes some wing time. Is Ash HBF or mid? So many unknowns.

B: Isaac Cumming - Sam Taylor - Connor Idun
HB: Lachie Whitfield - Jack Buckley - Nick Haynes
C: Harry Perryman - Lachie Ash - Josh Kelly
HF: Brent Daniels - Harry Himmelberg - Toby Greene
FF: Aaron Cadman - Jesse Hogan - Toby Bedford
R: Braydon Preuss - Tom Green - Stephen Coniglio
INT: Finn Callaghan - Matt Flynn - Daniel Lloyd - Callan Ward

You'd think Kelly is more useful to GWS on the outside receiving. They have others (including an as yet unsigned Finn Callaghan) who can play inside.

Hunter and Dunkley out should mean more midfield time for Bont and Macrae (and Smith).

Lobb in is the big factor though, their forward line hopefully doesn't need Bont as much now.

This is the main issue now.

Is anyone considering Bailey Smith?

(Macrae and Bont both locks I reckon)

Dunkley was a 108 ave for $596 ....could go 115 this year

Titch, yes is $70K cheaper ....whats he go, 105 ? ....a lot are thinking 110 min ?

So, I have Butters, Taranto & Cameron (F1-F3) .....Am I prepared to give up the DPP of Cameron, who'll likely also be a 105 average player ....to get Titch 🤔
Wait . . . Cameron is going to average 105ppg?

This is because Grundles has gone?

The 105 prediction for Cameron was predicated on the history of him averaging 96 this year, in games without Grundy ....training as a FT RUCK, would he be able to improve 9 points in his ave ?

IMO he did tire quite a bit in the run home last season

Luke Jackson will play more games than DC this year, and at the same price.

I just want to see how Longmuir uses LJ before pulling the trigger. Jackson might have rivalled Will Brodie for bench time in 2022, and regularly started games on the bench for the Dees.

EDIT: sorry, midfielders thread.

Not much talk of Cripps in here. Around $600k, looking fit, and with Walsh out. Brownlow hangover superstition? Surely he's a better option than most of the $550k'ish guys like Warner, Green etc.

Yes ....I reckon he's ready to really breakout

Can Butcher the ball at times. Aka Taranto.
Taranto first picked for me in the forward line

But, Smith is in the mids so has to go a bit better than Taranto to be a good pick

Plus given I’ve got Macrae and Bont, adding Smith as well looks . . . a bit too WBD intensive.

Green very popular

Smith under the radar in a similar price bracket
For me .....Smith preferenced over Titch ...appears an even greater emphasis on midfield speed of ball movement in 2023 ....and Smith fits that build perfectly

5th year of AFL coming up .....22 YO
If not for the personal issues that surfaced in 2022, his performance IMO would have been even better, after R12....his annual progression is on a par with Green

the only reason i cant fit smith in is because of how many other doggos are on offer. green smith warner are all in the same sorta bracket and price range

Some are overthinking Titch's scoring potential with Collingwood's playstyle. Seems they think he won't get the pill enough to score highly.

2022 Brisbane Lions averaged 346 disposals per game. Lachie Neale averaged 122 as the main man at the coalface.
2022 Collingwood averaged 349 disposals per game. Tom Mitchell will be the main man at the coalface.
Prediction: 115+ will be fantastic for a durable stud at only $528k

Titch is also only 29, plenty would have you think he's 38 and wears concrete boots while he plies his trade.

Work out their points per disposal, that's the most relevant stat for Titch.

And disposals per team isn't that important to his scoring, it's how many he gets that matters as in the past he has needed more than other SP's to get his points.

At the end of the day last year he was played out of position and still averaged 96. I have No doubt he will be back over 110+ in a better team and in the right position.

I was replying to those who questioned his output within Collingwood's "all-new million dollar super-fast jumbo jumbo" playstyle.
Point was Brisbane had less touches for the year, yet an inside mid still averaged 122.

Many of us are aware of Titch's PPP, yet despite this he still goes 115+ in 2023.

Doubt me? Fight me.

The big boost for Titch being in the guts the whole time (+ no shoulder concerns) will be that his tackle numbers go back up, that should be enough to boost him up to keeper territory.

I think he'll settle in the 105-110 range and be an ok starting pick, but not one that is a must have.

He's cheap enough I may well start him, just hate starting blokes that end up 100-105 and at M8.

Interesting you point out Collingwoods fancy new style, below are the disposals for the main midfielders in 2022

Crisp 24, Adams 22, "Pendles" 23 , Sidebum 18.

Titch's career averages below. His tackles weren't that low last year but sure they might gain him another 8-12 points. The big issue is even in a down year he averaged more disposals than any of Collingwoods mid's. What if he only get's 25-30 touches playing fast and loose (with the resulting clangers)?

I've owned Titch several times and he always struck me as one of those players (and he's by far from the only one) that seems very keen to rack up the big possession numbers. It bordered on ridiculous the year he won the Brownlow (it was wonderful for my SC team though). I don't think he will be allowed to do that this year.

Having said all that, he's probably the safest option in the price range. None of this is a dig at Collingwood btw.
