It is the AFL. Almost every single event can be judged to deliver two or more distinctly different outcomes.

A good tackle = No prior, ball up / Improper disposal, free for.
A bad tackle = Infrignement, free against / Err, dunno, ball up.
Throw from a pack = Throw, free against / Play on!
7 metre kick = Mark / No mark, play on.
25 metre run without bouncing = Too far, free against / Play On.
Malicious bump = Play on / Hunter's dad firing up the car for a trip to the Epworth.

He got him high because he dropped to his knee. I hope the club push the point hard to mitigate the penalty. Push for a fine. Hope for a one match worst case scenario. He was on his feet when he kicked it. Reasonable for Marley to believe his bump would connect with the body. In a split second he dropped to his knee. To late for Marley to change his action. Nothing malicious. Nothing that the player with ball in hand shouldn’t expect in a contact sport (or Is it????) I don’t think it is relevant to this incident but I fear players don’t know how to protect themselves from physical contact In today’s game.
