And the longer they delay making a decision the more idiots come out having an opinion on it. Just hand down the suspension and have done with it, we all know he's copping one.

Of course the intense media scrutiny will help justify handing down an inordinately long suspension, so that's probably their aim.

What happened to the MRO coming to a finding within 24 hours?

Maybe they’re worried if they’re harsh on Marley, they’ll have to be harsh on one of their favourites

Only starts in the home and away season apparently

Former North premiership player David King believes match review officer Michael Christian's ruling on Williams' bump on Western Bulldog Ed Richards will set a season-long precedent.

I think there is an opportunity here at the start of 2020 to say this has to be outlawed from our game," King told Fox Sports.
"If you're going to change behaviour, it has to be four or five weeks [suspension]."

Christian will release his verdict on the Williams case later Monday

Should get off as it was an accident, but he wont. General principle is if you choose to bump when you could have tackled then you are responsible for the outcome. On that basis, 3 for 2 I'm guessing, but he is a bit stiff.

Jeez

9 times out of 10 when a player is in Marley's spot with a teammate having a better line to the ball you'd go to bump

And 9 times out of 10 the player in Ed's spot doesn't fall into it.

It's unlucky that it's careless/high and should be 2 weeks max. If you "make a statement" on this bump we might as well be playing basketball.

Wasn't the ball loose though? Can't tackle without old ginger spice having the ball. Anyway, what's done is done, 1 week and lets move on. 1 week for sheer tokenism.

Imagine a high-profile Collingwood supporter saying one of their players should be suspended for five weeks. Just wouldn't happen.

Still entitled to bump if within 5 metres (I think).

I haven't seen the Williams one but from the sounds of it a suspension is likely (and warranted) but have seen the Crouch (on Oliver) one and he should definitely get games.

Whately's view was 2 weeks for Marley and 1 week for Crouch (I haven't seen the Crouch one).

Did they mention Zorko? I had to turn it off after Kingy campaigning to get Marley 5 weeks.

They did once an sms’er brought it up but I, like you, wasn’t listening closely as the King rant had me fired up at the time.
