North Melbourne midfielder Jed Anderson has been fined following the AFL Match Review for Friday night's game.

The 28-year-old was charged with striking Fremantle midfielder Andrew Brayshaw in the second quarter.

Having been graded as intentional, low impact and body contact, the incident was classified as a $3000 sanction.

As it was his first offence, Anderson can accept a $2000 fine with an early plea.

The finding will be a relief for the inside midfielder, who will hope to build further continuity having missed the first seven matches of the season.
Mighta been the only target he hit all night

Zac Jones today tunnelled Langdon, let’s see if he also cops a week like Larkey. I would say that it gets overlooked as he doesn’t play for North!

Sure, it'll be interesting to see if he gets a week.

But Larkey didn't get a week for playing for North, he got a week for committing a pretty shit and ultimately dangerous act while frustrated.

Both similar in the way the players landed, but Jones wont get cited. There will be dozens by the end of the season and no one else will cop a week...

Regardless of the outcome of the Jones one, we can't sook about Larkey going. If that was one of our players tunneled we'd be wanting months for the opposition.

Key difference is Jones can argue he wasn't intentional, he turned his back to avoid contact yadda yadda yadda. Whereas Larkey couldn't argue anything, he clearly tunneled and was always going. Jones definitely did it on purpose but disguised enough.

There is no way that should be a 50m penalty either. Sick of players instigating contact then dropping like they're shot - no issues with going in to back up your team mater, but you shouldn't get a 50m penalty when you make contact to start with. (assuming the 50m is for the 2nd act, as it appears based on the whistle).

To be honest it was just dumb by Jones, Oliver never touched him. Got absolutely sucked in.

That was a pure flop by Oliver. Just utterly pathetic.

Jones should be done for the tunnel - it appeared to be intentional, and it is possible the 50 was part of the penalty for that (I think that 50 was paid against Larkey). But that doesn't excuse Oliver coming in, acting like he's an enforcer then going down in a flop like he did.

Although, he might be just as weak as piss as he went down like that when he copped a one-inch-gutpunch from Ben10.

And there it is….as called

Jonez was fined for his love-tap on Holiver.

The AFL post the video of the tunelling and the elbow thrown to oliver's chest then the "square up" on Jones by May.

What this says to me is that tunelling is OK (except if you are in one of the lower teams). In fact, it isn't even scrutinised if you're in the 8. Similarly, a square-up elbow to the back of the head is OK if you are in a top team and divers will not only be rewarded, but players can be reported and fined for causing a flopper to dive.

The MRO is a bigger farce than almost any other aspect of the AFL. Right up there with the ARC, the Umpires and the entire administration and everything they say or do (going back as far as I can remember).

Still don’t know why we didn’t challenge the impact of the Larkey one, what he did was dumb but a week?

As you’ve mentioned, similar incident and not even sighted.

Piss ****ing weak.

Every campaigner who said Larkey deserved a week is so quick to be righteous but as soon as the club is criticized for its onfield results were too negative.

**** offffff

Jed Anderson would be looking at that elbow and asking how it is reasonable that he is fined for a forearm across the belly.
