The smart move for Brady would be to start making an overt play for Geelong’s pick 8. If WC is holding out for a better offer they’d realise they risk getting no deal at all. It would force them to contemplate the deal on the table or acknowledge they’re not actually seriously interested in trading.
What you folks over there are not understanding is that the offers were made by NM first, we have rejected the offers.
It is you folks who are wanting Harley and we want to keep him.
Unless of course a Godfather offer is made which would be your first picks and a little more.

2 and 3 and a little more? Even SEN has moved on from that.

Why hasn’t WC committed to taking Reid then? They’re obviously open to offers. It would save a lot of bullshit talk if they just came out and stated that they’re happy to go to the draft with pick 1 and the second rounder.

Like it or not, they’re fielding offers for whatever reason.

yep and every club would in their shoes too. You just don't know what a club may offer up so no surprise that they are open to offers

They're fielding offers because they have nothing in between 1 and the mid 20s. Their list is shot to pieces and they want multiple first-rounders to continue the rebuild. Being at this stage in the cycle and having only one early pick is a travesty.

Their supporters are banging on about us having FOMO for Reid but I reckon they see our five first-round picks and are having some FOMO of their own.

Let them squirm, I say.

I'm not convinced trading 2 or 3 first round picks for Harley Reid is worth it, I think McKercher will end up the star of this year's draft. From the footage I've seen he looks like one of the most creative mids I've seen, is a beautiful user of the ball and should work well with LDU, Wardlaw and Phillips either creating chances or feeding it out to guys like Sheezel, Powell and Thomas.

I think McKercher is the guy that completes our midfield, and with the next pick we can select a player like Duursma or Curtin or Watson, and then with our remaining first rounders we can be more selective and go for KP players like Murphy, Shoenmaker or Archer Reid, a small forward like Collard or a ruck like Green.

He looks like a really 'safe' selection. Plug in and play type arrangement. Would love to see him at NM.

For me, 2,3 and for 1 is the only way this gets done with West Coast (if at all). We still go in with 1, 15, 17 & 18 which in any other year we’d be going nuts about!

Of the two outcomes though, we'd be stupid to go for that one

Yes I agree, Kerby McColbert will be very, very good without a doubt, and picking him with 2 allows us to reach for a possible freak like Watson or Duursma. They could be anything or they could be a bust, but sitting behind the deadset guarantee in Colby, how can we lose? I also see great opportunities at 15, 17, and 18 to take those talls that you mention. West Coast would love our draft hand. Good luck to them with Reid and whoever is still there at pick 28.

This is the most pathetic game of bluff of all time. Between both clubs and fans.

We would like pick 1. If this wasn't the case, we wouldn't have bothered making any offers. Regardless of their unevenness.

WC would obviously be more comfortable not taking on the flight risk, but with the proviso that they're adequately compensated. If this wasn't the case, the hysteria over our offers would be non existent.

But the Harley hype has gotten to a point where it's bad PR for WC to accept a deal that isn't lopsided in their favour.

Your mob can keep your wishful wet dream Godfather offer crap out of it. Pick 2,3 and something else. ****ing lol.

On the other side of the fence, our mob can front up and admit that the club is looking to secure pick 1, and that there are probably one or two more offers on the way, instead of sticking their fingers in their ears and going 'lalala the offers we made were reasonable so suck it.'

The end

Agree. Atm the game is played with speed and quick ball move movement. Leg speed, endurance, good disposable and defensive pressure is so important.

How many of the above four does Reid have? Maybe the disposable one? McKercher on the other hand has the first 3 and maybe the defensive pressure as well?

I only seen a few games so I might be wrong but I the real doubts Reid can play any real mid minutes any time soon. From what I've seen he can't run. Even HHF and HBF need to run like mids.

Yep mckercher is equal with Reid on output and probably future prospect.
Reid will be a slow burn - will take a few years to get an afl tank and build up his body
