Toast 2023 No Trades Club

The byes are fast approaching and everyone knows what that means, right, RIGHT?? No, not that you have to play best of 18 each week for 4(!) weeks now. This is nothing compared to what is really about to happen to a few of us. Those looking nerviously at their trade remaining count for the year can already see the inevitable before it occurs. What am I talking about you say?! If you have to ask this question, please depart this thread and return when you get that tingling sensation in your loins. I'm talking about the real possibility of running out of those valuable trades that some seem to horde for eternity.

We started with 36 and 5 boosts and those who have copped all the injuries and spuds over the past 10 weeks know the feeling all too well. It takes a modicum of willpower to save them but when you start spending, you just can't stop.

The byes are only 2 rounds away and with the byes comes the special ability to spend, spend, spend for those that have already used all their boosts! You essentially get 4 free boosts! For a trade-a-holic such as myself, do you know how much willpower I will have to muster to stop myself from using ALL 3 trades for each of the bye rounds. As of this moment, I don't even have enough to fully utilise the most of that situation. Because of this, there is the real possibility that I will be joining the no trades club at some point. I do not know how I will cope for the rest of the season not being able to do what I love so much.

It's getting like that. An extra round this year. I think we're all going to run out of trades early. I wouldn't be surprised if there's a lot of noise about trades and the extended season, and they give us an extra trade or 2 in round 24.

It's getting like that. An extra round this year. I think we're all going to run out of trades early. I wouldn't be surprised if there's a lot of noise about trades and the extended season, and they give us an extra trade or 2 in round 24.

If they give in and hand out more trades that would be me done with SC I reckon, would be a ridiculous thing to do.

I agree. Even if i got to a situation where i wanted more trades, its bullshit if they give in and change the game like that. Everyone that saved trades would be disadvantaged. The only thing that could make a change like that somewhat warranted would be some major unknown/unprecedented event that screwed with the fixture.

Otherwise, making a significant change like that is absolutely ridiculous and unfair. If it happened i wouldnt be done with SC (because i cant get enough) but i would be extremely disappointed. Plus, 36 trades is already heaps. I maintain even if they significantly undersold us on trades (say we had 26) it would still be unfair to change the parameters of the game like that...it just cant happen!

Exactly, we all decide when and where to use the trades. No point boohoo'ing that we've run out.

I'm down to 15 and have had 5 injury trades this year and have Oliver so haven't missed the carnage.
