Equal numbers in each group.
Sharp lead the whole way in the first group but ran well below his PB.
Hippy took the lead from Tommy with 2 laps to go and pushed away easily in the end. His PB for a 3 k'er
J.Berry just coming off rehab with his shoulder. He will be cherry ripe for round 1.
Any further news re Adams?

how did tunstill perform last year?

he looked pretty gassed in the back end of games he played this year - im impressed he has managed to perform so well in the time trial (although the time trials performance correlation to match day tank is probably dubious at best)
Due to covid they did not run the trial last year

Not sure the new draftees ever do?

I know that Ashcroft has this year but I am not sure that is normally the case.

That's so sad. Poor bastard is in the Justin Clarke zone.

If he still is sick now and he was my family member i would want him to hang up his boots.

Don't take any more chances, it's just not worth it.
yes it seems he is suffering some long term effects and I think he is getting close to 30 years of age and one year left on Lions contract, so if symptoms don't improve over the early part of the year would be wise to retire. There is a lot of living to do after footy.

Are the club putting out details of training days/times/locations anywhere?
Haven’t seen any listed.

We rocked up to Wednesday afternoons training out at Springfield on the assumption that they’re still doing Wednesday afternoons.

Pretty sure it’s still Monday and Friday mornings.

For someone who’s just used to city metro driving, it’s not a particular nice drive out there.

So everyone I have growled at for criticising the Springfield location and player commutes, I apologise.

Hope the players each get a fuel card.

Not sure you need to apologize it is early days regarding the venue

On Friday i drove from the northern suburb of Everton Park. It only took me 38 minutes to travel 35km leaving at 7.30 am
If i drove to the old Yeronga training field, at the same time it would be at least 38 minutes travel time as i can't avoid going via the city
However, Brighton Homes Arena is 10km longer to travel. Will i use more petrol, maybe, maybe not. Mostly nonstop driving v stop start via city
So, a lot would depend on which suburb the players/fans are coming from. Also, what time training/game starts

I thought the road out to Springfield was fine. Mostly 2 lanes except for the last 2 km. Travelling at 4pm-6pm those 2 km may be an issue
On the other hand, coming back you will be held up by major roadworks at the Camira/Carole Park section. Two lanes down to 1 until completed

Like any other capital city, the traffic you encounter depends on the time of day you travel, a weekday v weekend/school holidays, roadworks and accidents

Was the traffic ordinary?

Fit and happy.

We’ll have to watch his burst and power, and his endurance, to really gage where he’s at.

Would be some sort of irony if Cockatoo has a breakout season while Cam Rayner struggles with fitness.

If Cam was that far out of form and fitness to be dropped then I would opt for Lohmann personally.

But Cocky did look fit and eager the other day at training, didn’t notice him in the running drills at the end though.

Is it me or is Premium seating spreading into prime seating. 426, 427 and 407 I'm certain use to be in the cheaper category.

Went to training this morning, mainly to take some photos. Will sort some out and post them later today
I won't be able to give much feedback because of taking photos
Temperature was a mild 24 to 26 during the session
Below image + a fun one, is one of the rehab group. That group did a lot of running today.

Big O trained a little with the main squad but also added a lot of running during the session but he was on his own
Oscar is quick for his size and even though he had no one to run with he put in a big effort
He did not appear to have an injury that was noticeable. Maybe they want to get his TOG up a bit
Oscar has only exceeded 80% TOG once being in 2021. That year it was 82.6%
The usual split groups, training mostly ball work
Did not do any 400 or 200 group running unless they did it before i arrived at 8.15am. Training finished at around 9.30am

All with shoulder surgery?

We probably have the option to play Gunston as a defender and play both Fort and O alternating forward and ruck.
Or a left field option of Henry Smith playing Forward/Ruck if we don’t think Fullarton is up to it.

But I don’t see any of that happening unless there is an injury or poor form with Andrews, Gardiner and Payne.
Another out of left field option is maybe putting Hipwood at CHB. He would have the athleticism, height & football nouse to make the switch. Although it may be seen as robbing Peter to pay Paul a bit. Then leave Gunston & Daniher & Big O/Fort in the forward line.

On the Hipwood extension - not a big fan of the number of years still, but have a look at this article outlining the remaining free agents:

The only key position players under 30 left in this list who aren't people who have been delisted previously (like Sam Durdin), are Himmelburg, Doedee, Ben McKay, and I'd assume all of those will re-sign on good money.

Not exactly a heap of upcoming KPF free agents either out of the 2016 and 2017 drafts - Todd Marshall and Darcy Fogarty are the pick of the bunch which is very sad.

Only issue with that post is that Hippy doesn’t have footy nous and is pretty soft most of the time.

Would struggle massively down back

You are kidding right? You have to compare traffic to relevant traffic which is basically Melbourne. Let’s say you live in Toorak and you want to drive to Richmond for training. This like 5km and to drive it in peak hour, you are looking at 45 minutes already anyway. If you are at Essendon and want to live in the nice part of Melbourne in bayside, you are looking at up to 2 hours and tolls to get to training in peak hour. This commute thing is nothing in Brisbane to Springfield.
