We cant keep saying this year after year

Fully agree, but this is a new regime and so we have reset. But yes in 2024 we do not want to be resetting again, but rather continuing on with what has begun this year.

Having said that I fully expect that part of what 2023 will be doing will sorting out the "wheat from the chaff". So personally I am expecting possibly more than the normal amount of list changes.

Back on ruck. So part of that will mean deciding by draft/trade time whether we think that Heath will make it. If not then we will need another ruck who is ready to go, or at least almost is, rather than another kid.

Key forward wise we look very thin. Hopefully Hayes can make it as a undersized CHF. So I expect the club will be looking. Though decent CHF's are hard to find.

Hayes is not an undersized CHF he’s fine for that. It’s ruck he plays undersized but he’s not expected to properly ruck anyways just follow up on the ball/kill the contest

Tom De Koning is the perfect player to partner Marshall
Is out of contract end of the year
If not at Carlton will be at the Bombers I think

We need to look more appealing than Carlton then. On paper they look pretty exciting to be at. Coleman McKay, Walsh, Brownlow cripps, Weitering, Coleman Curnow.

On potential we have them beat with Philippou, Owen’s, Windy, King, Higgins, Clark.

Carlton will struggle to fit him in their SC

Yeah. This is the exact thought behind my previous post. You look at Carltons list and theres at least 1 "star/a-grader" on every line of the ground to be wary of - we're lacking serious talent unfortunately.

Wow disappearing posts its like the X Files in here
Would be good if you provided some context.

Deleted a couple of posts of you and plugger arguing. Put him on ignore, he's admitted to doing it on purpose to annoy other posters.

The others were wishing that someone would have a stroke.

Don't think there's anything wrong with removing this content, but if you have any issues PM me or one of the mods.

Someone arguing with plugger

Surely you jest

Well I can converse with P66. But have the other poster on ignore, seems like an argumentative type whom I have no time for. Can't even remember when I put him on ignore. Don't have many so he must be a pain.

I think the problem with them is all between the ears. They have the same problem we have. Mental fragility.

We often end up a similar position to them but without the media hype. And that’s not a good thing. They’re shit so the fact that we’re so often around their mark isn’t great.

How was the gig? Or is it tonight?
Gday Mate.
Went today.
Show was fantastic would highly recommend going to see it when it heads up your way.

Yet they won just 1 more game than us last season, off a much easier draw.

They played two less games against top 6 sides than us, two more against bottom 5 teams, got to play a whopping 16 games at their home grounds (to our 12), while playing two less interstate/Geelong than us, and played two less top 6 teams interstate or in Geelong than we did.

That is at the very minimum a two win easier draw.

Keeler, Sharman, Membrey, Hayes, Heath

Butler, gresh, Owen’s, Higgins, philippou

There’s 10 forward options

I was talking true CHFs/Key forward, and not just forwards generally.

Heath is tall, but does not have the mobility for CHF. Is also not ready this year

Keeler does and yes is definitely a future CHF option. But is raw and skinny this season.

Membrey is a very good third tall forward, but has not really played as key position forward. Sharma too also looks to be more your third tall type.
Hayes will undersized looks more like a key position type, but at this stage is not proven at AFL level, though he looked very good in his limited gametime.

Now the problem is that if Max is out at any stage, that our current "ready to play" marking forwards are 193cm players. With Max in I think that should work ok, but when Max is out it may not work as well.

Doggies for example have Naughton, Bruce, Lobb and Jamara. Naughton is their runt at only 195cm. Plus English is a very handy when he plays forward. And then they also have the 204cm Sam Darcy to be groomed. So to my way of thinking the Saints are light on for true key forward types. That is not tos ay that Hayes will not make it as a key forward, but if he does I will still regard him as un undersized key forward. Curnow player that height who plays well in the role.ow being an example
