I think we drag them down to our level, let them miss and just wait for Blacres to do his thing

You don’t have to play ugly footy to win. Clean, quick, skill full movement counters contest very well. You get your hands on the ball first, u don’t give it back & make the opposition chase & fight just to keep up - let alone get ahead.
GWS are doing that right now
I'm sorry but whatever GWS is doing right now is of no relevance to us. Different opponent, different game.

Just remember, we are in a preliminary final and it's on the back of how we have played. I really couldn't give a stuff what GWS does lol. I'll celebrate our achievements so far this season. I think we are a very good chance of knocking off Brisbane this week, I'm sure the coaches and MC will get the mix right again this week.

Go hard as @#$k , take the game plan that has served us well to date. The manic pressure from 'the run'. and our monstering of the Swans, and the smashing of, and by the Dee's. The harder the opposition, the better we go...
Players like Owies, Kennedy, Cunningham, and Marchie on thin ice...
For the likes of Harry, Jack, JSOS, Hollands

Kennedy out for McKay is a no-brainer. Bam Bam came in to play as a pseudo-KPF and makes way for a proper one.

Motlop came in for Martin and showed plenty. Holds his spot. Means another forward has to make way, and I think Cunners has picked a terrible time to hit a patch of ordinary form. Hasn't been awful, but his trademark cleanliness has been missing (lots of fumbling and overrunning the ball) and he's failed to really impact. Was subbed out as well, which is about as clear an indication you'll see that the coaches felt the same way.

Only other change I'd make is to find someone to take Marchbank's spot - dependent on match-ups. Reckon that for every mark he took, he dropped an absolute soda as well. Also...yet another turnover caused by him back-pedalling away from the ball instead of coming forward to meet it, allowing an opposition intercept. Did some good work too, for sure, but Brisbane's smalls read the ball incredibly well, and feast on anything that hits the deck - I'd like to see him come out for someone with a bit more composure and intent.

I can't see how this is a definitive answer that explains how you hold that viewpoint.

Why even comment?

If you can't see how Motlop, Cuningham, Owies, and - in particular - Fogarty helped us win the game last night, I don't know what to tell you that I haven't already, (quite emphatically).

As delusional as your assessment of Pittonet's effort being his career best. He didn't play badly, but he was very much a role player, and very much not the dominant ruck on the ground.

Melbourne played an injury sub for Gawn rather than bring in Grundy or have a sub they would have preferred to activate, and it was a big part of what cost them the game. Outside of the centre bounce, Pittonet was just a tagging.

Hilarious that you ask for a mobile big body in the middle and bemoan our tactical options up forward, then laugh at the notion of making TDK #1 ruck and letting Silvagni pick up the slack in the forward and ruck rotation...

Can you articulate a cohesive argument, or do you just want to disguise reflexively disagreeing with me by wobbling out another post like this?
You might be having a bad day Jimmae...no need to take it out on me...

My argument is simple - Carlton doesn't have the outside skill to compete against Brisbane on their terms and by outside I mean from wing to forward pocket positions - what Carlton has is a big fat one wood called contested ability - which if employed at its best achieves two things

firstly and most importantly it deprives teh opposition of possession and if not deprives them of time and space to use possession - thus minimising their skill advantage

secondly, if our midfield can achieve enough contested wins the key attacking weapons Carlton possesses namely Harry/Charlie and Martin might get enough opportunity to kick a winning score...

As for Pittonet I thought he played a great game against the best ruckman in teh competition last night - if you have a different view- you are entitled to it . I wasn't 'reflexively' disagreeing with anything you said...dont know where you get that idea from.
