I must be old and out of touch, but what has Stubbs done to get that many followers and likes..

Not sure what his back ground is?

Young/good looking/post funny sh.it. Smart kid knows how to market himself to his audience. He would be getting thousands from advertisers.

I’m surprised he wants to take a huge paycut just to be a rookie on an AFL list.

i mean probably was ten years old given the tweets are from 2011?
Back then Twitter and how it was used was way less refined, and then combine this with being the generation that was adopting MySpace/Facebook/Twitter as teenagers, and WA never really getting a twitter culture to this day, think you can excuse anybody from saying harmless nonsense on twitter lol...

Tbh going to say anyone that thinks those tweets are genuine fuel to whack him is being grossly unfair.

If you trawled my social media from back then it'd be filled with foursquare-styled photos taken on the family Mac, on the photobooth app. Rather be called a dork for who I am now, rather than who I was/don't even remember doing 10-plus years ago as a teenager.

TikTok

Stubbs: 131.5k followers, 2.7m likes
Fremantle Dockers: 39.9k followers, 805.7k likes

This is legit a marketing team’s dream having Stubbs on the list.

So what does he do on there ?

Scratch that , answered above

If it’s mostly goal celebrations let’s hope he does a shitload of TikTok’s this year

I won't be there today. I have something else on. Ill be there Friday
Hey KH thanks for the reports, top notch content which is greatly appreciated by many on here.

I’ve got Friday off so as long as not too hungover I will also be getting down to Cockburn on Friday. Are you generally down near the goals at the cul de sac end?

Pretty sure he will continue his online life and make even more, being a rookie does not prevent him from continuing to expand his following.

Hey mate ill be hung over too.

I'll be there regardless because I'm back at work on Monday and won't be on holidays for another 10 weeks.

I'll be on the grass embankment from 9:30 next to the steps that lead up to the ARC.

With a coffee in hand.

Freo won’t let him post things without their approval. He won’t have the freedom to express himself and won’t get Final Cut. There is also salary cap issues with having a side hustle. Is it included in the cap??

If Fremantle is involved in finding content partners for Stubbs or contributes directly then it will cause problems for total player payments.

As with other clubs, we can facilitate a transfer via our community programs to Stubbs for promotional content.

I don't think there would be an issue with salary cap if it's a genuine side hustle and he can prove it with receipts. 100% the club will be leaning on whatever content he posts though.

Lateef Training Report - 25/01/23
Hi everyone- loving the training reports, as always. Went to freo oval this morning myself to have a peek. Pretty meagre offering this but I know how hungry everyone is!
Low key session when I was there - 9:30ish to 10:15ish.
Henry and Wagner were modified program buddies, jogging along the boundary, stopping, returning.. the whole time.
Same for Benning and Williams.
Aish the same, but by himself and Kuek doing similar on the clubhouse side.
Henry has def put on upper body size. Sometimes photos are misleading but he looks solid as. Legs just as they always were though - his trademark.
Williams looks so young and slight, but he was running beside Benning.
Couldn’t see Fyffi or Sonny out there, and thought maybe an age thing bc O’meara evaded my notice too until he didn’t- what a smooth moving unit.
Chapman and Wilson back w the main group.
Draper looks a great size and L Serong is tall! Looked a touch taller than Amiss when they were standing side by side.
Sorry, I don’t have much else to offer - when there’s not much going on other than drills, it’s physiques and style that catch your eye.. decision making drills was one I saw.. but everyone looks bigger, and they look confident, happy, sharp, aggressive even… One that stuck out was O’Driscoll - looks grown up and solid.

Wobbly Punt Training Report - 25/01/23
Hey Folks, only a short session today for me as I got there about 10:45 or so and clearly missed a chunk. No match sim that I saw so nothing exciting there. The last bit of what I saw was gut running drills so not a lot to report from that either.

I will say Noddy is clearly match quick and match fit but the drills aren’t his finest work. There’s nothing at all to worry about in terms of conditioning as in the ball drills he was all over the place but the up and back cone-to-cone work is not where he shines. There was one guy who was noticeably quicker when the light blue shirt of a coach was watching the running as opposed to an absence of those shirts. I won’t name him but it was clearly evident to me in the 15mins they were running.

Not participating in the drills when I was there were Pearce, Fyfe, Henry, Walters, JOM, Warner, Benning, Wagner and Emmett. There’ll be others too but those are the ones I know for sure. Benning was amongst some others (including Henry) doing some boxing and other conditioning work. The battle ropes and lat pull down machine were copping a flogging from some of the boys.

It’s also worth noting Benning was carrying a mild cork in his thigh/groin apparently picked up in the sim on Monday. Apparently, he picked it up just prior to the now infamous chase of Darcy. He’d apparently been on a long run coming off Darcy to make a contest and kill a move forward and whilst he made that contest, he got a knock in that area. Darcy was smart enough to move away from him as Benning recovered which caught Benning out by making a dangerous spot when the ball came out quickly again. That's from one of the conditioning guys. I think he may have had some extenuating circumstances in that highlight we saw. He was working hard today in the conditioning stuff I saw but I think they held him out of the running or he was in a group I didn't see.

Hayden Young is an interesting athlete to watch move. He can be quite stiff and almost awkward as he moves at times and yet at others he’s very smooth. Again, no issue at all but something I have noticed before and in the absence of bulk content today it makes the cut.

The drills they did today were pretty simple. A couple of groups doing the keep-it-off handball contest where each group tries to weave their way through the other finding room in a confined space via handball.

At the tree end of the ground on the outer side there was another group doing something similar but by foot with the coach in control of that drill sometimes making them use opposite foot and he also asked them a couple of times to challenge their own thinking and skills with options. It seemed to be about finding ways in too the F50 and then out of D50 through a heavy zone.

At the hospital end on the outer side there was a 1 on 1 drill matching defenders and forwards in a contest. It was about multiple leads and second/third efforts. A contest on the wide flank, run up to a cone, then push back hard to a contest with the ball delivered by a coach in a back lead scenario and then contest there. As I was on the opposite side of the ground to the action it was hard making out who was who but I did notice LJ & Noddy have some good wins. Noddy beat Clark back to the square in one contest and held his feet to get an open goal. Clarky not happy with himself on that one.

Closest to me when I arrived Johno, Erasmus, and Chappy were working with others I forget now on ground ball skills. I found it interesting/exciting to see Chappy working with a clear mid group. We know it’s a possible thing for him in the future but it was great to see him mix it with them and good to see him back in the boots.

They added Amiss, Draper, Freddy & Clark (I think) to that group in a later drill in the same area where a coach would kick to another coach who would spill the high ball to the ground and 2 of them would match up and contest the ground ball. Whoever won it would then drive out and kick to a spot inside forward 50. Chappy is not the most fluent looking kick as he almost pushes his head too far over the ball but I’m glad no one screwed with his action because it is accurate. It’s a particularly effective kicking style for low direct passes. Not many times did the receiving coach have to move far.

Clark was really good in these, so clean and good at taking the ball whilst also getting space away from being tackled. Johnson also stood out. He’s very active at the drop and aggressive to the ball. He made a contest every time by pushing past his opponent to try to get first hands on it. He caught Walker, Freddy and Ras out when the ball was seemingly coming straight to them by aggressively changing his angle and pushing forward to the ball. His aim wasn’t always to take possession but to make sure there was a second contest and he was set up to be in best possie then. Ras didn’t get caught out again and did the same thing thereafter to great effect.

Not surprisingly Draper was found out a bit in these drills given the people he was competing against but he did make Clark feel one contest more than Clary wanted too. He’s an agile unit for a big guy and he makes his presence felt in a physical contest.

The boys also did a goal kicking drill kicking towards the tree. They were all about 35-40 out in 3 groups kicking over the cutouts on the mark. 1 group directly in front, the other 2 groups either to the left or the right by about 10m. Everyone got involved in the kicking. Amiss didn’t miss, neither did Treacy or Sturt. Jackson was good too and Freddy is very confident and reliable. Switta is awkward but effective. Clark and Cox were both very solid too. Cox is still wearing a glove at the moment . He’s worn one in every session I’ve seen and I can’t remember if I’ve mentioned it before. Only on one hand (left I think). The end of this drill involved Freddy, Jackson and Cox all shooting for goal from 45 out 45 degree angle on the Freo side of the ground with the rest of the guys giving them the business to try to put them off. Freddy and Coxy were both 2/2 of the ones I saw, Jackson (who copped the most distraction effort) was 2/3.

After that they left the field and I had to go anyway. That's it from me Folks.

I've seen some of the squad riding along on what look like electric skateboards/land surfboards. I believe he came off one of those and injured his hand.

Thanks. Doesn't seem to be hampering him and nor does he favour it as far as I've seen so maybe just keeping infection out of a grazed area or something.

Seriously should just pick Serong and train/develop him in WAFL. Would be perfect to have that KPF alongside Amiss developing. Even if it's just a third option, really important to have.
Thanks for the report as well.
