Given you don't have a single premium midfielder currently, that would be prudent.

Laird at 11%, Neale at 17% and Macrae at 17%. They are almost pods.

Love it. vc/c pods have all 3.

Laser left foot leg who can kick 60 metres plus. Port will want to get the ball into his hands as much as possible.

Not saying to put him in your team but I thought I would throw it out there.

If I had a choice between Titch and Farrell I know who I would be picking for $100k less.

is this your first year playing SC? Looks like you could really do with some help. Backline is okay, and so are the rucks if you think Draper is going to break out this year. Your midfield is a disaster though.

First crack at a 2023 team (didn't play SC last year) and I feel my North bias is kicking in too much.

Cunnington will play a bit more forward, but is usually a fairly reliable scorer and is hard to resist at that price. Same with Fyfe, Yeo and Hopper.

The main one I am not sure about is Goater (I like him and he's had a brillant preseason playing hb/wing, but he has a lot of competition across HB, including from Drury, who has seriously impressed everyone at the club). I will wait and see I guess. Comben won't be a high scorer, but he will get regular games at CHF if fit, so he will be traded out after he makes me some money. Shezeel will likely be regular as well, but the news of him playing across HB irks me something fierce.

Have $130k to spare (maybe upgrade Goater/Hopper or someone in defence later on).

I won't comment on the wider team because I am dreadful at SC, but please don't pick Wardlaw. He hasn't even started full training yet and is way off it physically. Come back next year for him (may sneak some games at the very end of the year, but I doubt it).

Yep, and the Dee's have a pretty good early season draw. And he has two trips to the AO in the first 10 rounds, so two double tonnes incoming.

N Martin W Setterfield and put Davey on the bench.
Draper needs to improve to be a keeper at R2, but if you think its his breakout season then go for it.
Decent starter team, but load up a bit more on quality midfielders in Mids and Fwds also.

Normally i wouldnt run with any, but this year i think Ridley is cheap considering his capabilities and Draper well there's every chance he could break

I like this team with such a strong Forward line I would go Fyfe>Allen & upgrade Draper>Grundy

I have made those changes but i had to make a couple more to make the Grundy move, so:

Fyfe>Allen
Draper>Grundy
Ridley>Newman
Ginbey>Coffield

Obviously it will keep changing in the next 31 days......thanks to all for the feedback
