He was in decent positions a few times and got burnt by teammates who just bombed it forward.

I reckon they keep pumping games into him.

Freo need drive off half back, so he probably holds.

In terms of competition for that spot:
Wilson was BOG in the 2s last week. See how he goes this weekend. Although he's 30+ years old and hasn't shown much his entire career.
Chapman is 1-2 weeks away, although he's not going to offer much drive off half back.
The only other option is if Aish moves to half back.

As a betting man, I'd back Wagner holding his spot.
