Two questions for those in the know…

When are teams named this year?
Is there a rolling lock out each week?

1. Wednesday night for Thursday games, Thursday for the rest of the games.

2. Unfortunately there’s still a rolling lockout
Just to clarify the above, Wednesday night for Thursday games, and Thursday night for the rest. However, only Friday and Saturday games will show the starting side and emergencies. For Sunday games, you won't know the emergencies until 5pm Friday. (On Thursday the full squad is named with 8 on the interchange).

Can’t wait for the round to start

I’m hoping for a few surprises to shake things up and reward those who were brave enough to play with some PODness

Vive la difference :D

I'd just like a little luck with rookie roulette this year. Got reamed last year in the early rounds, every kent on my bench seemed to score a ton.

the following week you move the ton scorer to the field and the rookie you benched tons up instead :p

and to quote gutsroy's sagest piece of advice
the SC gods are absolute bastards.

It’s a whole series of little things that adds up, e.g.

Injuries at the start vs end of the game

VC/ C choices I.e picking good VC whilst a popular C flops

Trading too early/ too late

Team selections

Yeah. I’ve never been a fan of the rolling lockout. A fixed lockout would 100% eliminate looping and open up the playing field and make it more about the players you pick rather than your looping skills

Some people have never had to suffer through bringing in Heath Shaw the same week he was suspended for betting and it shows...

As long as players can be late outs (or now unfortunately, subs), it just makes sense to allow coaches the flexibility to stay competitive when things potentially aren't going well.

It means you are making more decisions about your team too. So playing a game, rather than setting it up and hoping for the best over each weekend.

HaHa yeah I remember probably 10 years when we had only 20 trades and I traded in Priddis when he was at his peak on the Monday only to find out an hour later he was out injured for a few weeks.:moustache:

Sounds amazing, wish we could have that again....

Looking back it was :poo: but it has gone too far the other way now. 30 trades and lock Captain/VC and Emergencies and it would be better

Yeah good call.

My main issue with the current game is the constant monitoring - causing frictions with your wife & clashes with life e.g. travelling, events etc

Yep, I'll never live down an incident in Singapore on my honeymoon in 2019.

Realised there was 7 minutes until Richmond vs Geelong started as we were walking to dinner. Had to borrow my wife's crappy travel phone that had the international sim in it. It was horrifically slow and I needed to get rookies off my field and set a VC for that night. Somehow due to panic and heavy fingers I set Sydney Stack as captain just as lockout hit. All of this while swearing at a busy intersection in some random part of Singapore with a wife telling me I'm obsessed and need to calm down.

Thankfully from that moment onwards I've realised how important it is to ride the wave of fun with this game and laugh off the carnage. I save any meltdowns for this board or a group chat with mates but don't talk about it out loud at home anymore. And that approach has resulted in less genuine meltdowns anyway.
