Yep, I'll never live down an incident in Singapore on my honeymoon in 2019.

Realised there was 7 minutes until Richmond vs Geelong started as we were walking to dinner. Had to borrow my wife's crappy travel phone that had the international sim in it. It was horrifically slow and I needed to get rookies off my field and set a VC for that night. Somehow due to panic and heavy fingers I set Sydney Stack as captain just as lockout hit. All of this while swearing at a busy intersection in some random part of Singapore with a wife telling me I'm obsessed and need to calm down.

Thankfully from that moment onwards I've realised how important it is to ride the wave of fun with this game and laugh off the carnage. I save any meltdowns for this board or a group chat with mates but don't talk about it out loud at home anymore. And that approach has resulted in less genuine meltdowns anyway.
Yes, it's worth remember that SC is a game we play voluntarily. But it's only a game.

If it's causing people massive amounts of stress they shouldn't play it imo.

Went to Singapore on our honeymoon in 2018, remarkable place. Im hoping it was a delayed honeymoon, who gets married in footy season 😂

How’d Sydney go for you that weekend?

Way I operate in SC is once the round starts I basically switch off. It is very rare that I post on this board during that time.

Only things I will check are VC scores and any loops I might have going. Then with that just check the player's individual score.
If I'm lucky will hear about a late out. More often than not I don't though and cop the backlash if it's one of my players.

I never look at opposition teams and just play my game. Do my trades, loops, pick VC & C. Take the attitude if they're good enough to beat me good luck to 'em.
I could never be one who is checking scores regularly. Would do my head in. Have enough going on on weekends without adding this.

Then after the last game it's just check my score. It maybe good or maybe carnage but it's not something that's on my mind over the weekend.

I say that too cause I’m not good at SC :p

Yeah I think there is something in that. It's the death-riding the players you don't have (and then they do well) that causes stress.

Not looking at match up's would help a bit there.

For me, if I’m free - I enjoy the live scores and the banter on here, including death-riding

It’s when I’m not free and still trying to keep up with late outs etc that bothers me!

Every year the Labour Day long weekend is the weekend before Round 1 and Carl vs Rich is on the third Thursday of March. I always wonder why they AFL start the season a week earlier to take advantage of the long weekend. This year they add an extra round and we still miss the long weekend. Bizarre.

Easy, just pick them all. Honestly, not stressing supercoach for the past 3 months has been a blessing, not getting burnt. Albeit i should have not let it go unchcked 2-3 days before the season starts. Next time probably 2 weeks with a cheeky peek here nad there at bigfooty and other outlets.

Just scan the last 5 pages of the Rate my Team thread, and maybe listen to a podcast or two and you will be all caught up.

I hope you did something useful with all that time over the last few months :thumbsu:

You'll be right.
Moat sides have a common core of 24-odd players
Flick through rate my team, focus on teams of folks who know their clacker from their elbow, job done.
Hadn't looked at it much until the final practice matches either, doing other stuff.
Only did that because I said I'd write a preview.

Season needs to end on the last Saturday in September and then work the fixture back from there. Is it just coincidence that this year it's Saturday 30th September? It's the only reason I can come up with
I agree they should utilise the long weekend

Hi All, long time no post and can’t access the old account.

We’ve got a few spots to fill in the BFLONELYKENTSCLUB league. It’s usually a very competitive league and we’ve consistently finished high in the league rankings the last 3 years.

League code is 242496.

Hope you're travelling along well,.I'm going through the motions one last time and hanging up the boots.
Can recommend the league to all you campaigners, high standard (apart from shit trucks like me haha).

The final tour hey? I’ve definitely heard that one before, but coming from you I believe it.

Well no matter how this season pans out, at least we’ve got your round intros to look forward to.

Who will be the first player to cause a major melt?
Callaghan when the ball spends the entire game on the opposite wing, and he ends up with ~10 touches, zero contested and a 35
