Trades 2023 Round 13 trades - second week of the byes

I'm still staring at this, thinking of how stupid it is to trade this week. Coverage and loops on offer.

Any trades will ruin that in my opinion.

Sheezel to Neale requires 100k to pull it off. That price range includes Dawson, who helps my team so much after next week with his DPP.

100k for a DNP loop DPP rookie, means I need to trade out a 200k+ rookie. Cincotta, Johnson and JVR? No thanks. May as well keep Sheezel for another 2 weeks.

Fwiw, I'd go with Neale over Brayshaw, just. Feel that ceiling is just a bit better (I already have Neale)

How many upgrades do you need and when are you planning to do the upgrades anyway?
Why not work with the byes and trade accordingly?

But now I'm reconsidering Brayshaw - is he necessarily all that safer and better than Warner?
Alkso, I think Swans are going to have a big run home and win more games than Freo from herein

Ziebell had a role change? Should get close to 470k Over the next 2 weeks, thats a pounce price.

Role in defence is still there, but Hall back is eating a lot of the chippies and isn't sharing with his fellow gulls.

Are Sheezels chippies impacted too? Or is he still too good to ignore?

I think you can explain a bit of what's happened to Ziebell's score from Hall's return 3 games ago, but you can't explain all of it.

Over the past few games, when he does get his hands on the pill, he's has been making an inordinate amount of unforced errors. Clangers from really dumb shit, like amateur level kick ins. Its quite inexplicable.

He's also been intercepting less over the past 3 games - I wonder if Mckay's return is cutting his lunch on that front.

Moreover he's just attacking the contest with less ferocity than he had been previously this season.

Love his commitment to my club, but he's gone from my SC team.

Sheezel is a very different kettle of fish. The issue isn't how much his chippies have been impacted by Hall, so much as he's been dumped in all 3 thirds of the ground recently because we needed his skillset elsewhere. But he does performs well in all those positions, for example he scored more than 100 playing predominately forward a few weeks ago.

If I was still loaded with trades, I'd exchange him for Butters or Macrae, but the risk/reward proposition isn't strong enough given we all know there will be carnage, and we'll need to trades to deal with them.

I've resolved to hold him, and I think he'll produce some more great scores yet.

I have Warner, he is great, but if he wasn't an option at 500k, no reason he should be at his current price. Brayshaw is a proven 600k premo. I just thought he started the season playing injured. Doesn't look like it anymore. Neale and Brayshaw are brilliant options to bring in this week.

Continuing from above, Upgrading Ashcroft and Humphrey to full blown premos, to make the trade worthwhile, will require another 2 trades each. Can make it work with 3 by downgrading JVR and upgrading the other two with the funds.

That leaves me with 4 or 5 trades to navigate the last 8+ rounds. Do you feel lucky enough to avoid 4 trades worth of carnage for the next 10/11 rounds? I dont. But I will sure give it a crack, patiently.

Completely agree with everything you have said. I saw it with Ziebell against the Swans with my own eyes, and he was worth 600k at the time. I waited a week and booted him at 560k. Sheezel is a complete different kettle of fish. Very well worth keeping.

Question then becomes, does Ashcroft fit that same bill?

I guess we approach it differently…

I’ve come to terms and have accepted the fact that I’ve burnt too many trades early, saving some trades now during the byes are not going to change those facts…

For me, I want to try last the full 12 rounds. There really never is a knockout on the Supercoachers behalf until the last week of the season. I want to still be in a position to challenge after R19 when everyone else starts running out of trades, copping donuts or sub 40 rookie scores.

This game is a marathon, not a sprint. Too many, including myself, would run out of trades chasing the perfect team.

Near enough is good enough, and a 95 average DPP rookie we got for less than half his price, is a great option in my final team. Ashcroft is another question, and Humphrey is yet to be known as he is pumping out near tons.

I've moved on Sheezel, but don't think that's mandatory, think he'll still be ok and one you don't have to cull if you like.
You could eliminate your bank balance and go from Sharp, but wait and see, he might get a game this week, isn't Zorko out?

Wouldn't go on Windy straight up.
You'd be moving late on Ziebs, if he gives you 85-90 from here on in, it's lineball.
Assuming it helps your byes a bit and gets you Neale this week; probably almost lean that way. Just don't love Ryan tbh.
Can you do all three and don't want to or only have enough cash for two?
