That article is so dense lol! Like trying to understand a chess game...Twomey's written a more Sliding Doors article than Purple ever has and we feature throughout (would've liked more detail on our 2nd):
I was lost after the first paragraph. That article is so dense lol! Like trying to understand a chess game...
Nah feck it, I don't get paid to do that s.hit anymore.I look forward to you educating the punters on this each and every year!
Who cares, when people try to talk about debt, I just laugh, it is just economic ignorance.it might not matter in an ongoing financial sense,
But it has mattered in a footballing sense ( not sacking Richo earlier )
it matters in a perception sense,
and it contunues to be a mallet other use to beat us with.
Nah feck it, I don't get paid to do that s.hit anymore.
Our Bal Sheet and Operating statement look fine, our Statement of Cashflows look up the s.hit compared to last year.
That is my biggest concern.
As for being buggered without the AFL, kinda true, however we are worth more to the AFL in an 18 team comp re broadcast rights than without us.

Revenue went up because of the belief and vision inspired by RTB. it may be difficult to see the same % increase this year, an increase Yes. But note that we will be running into some difficult economic headwinds so discretionary spending may be an issue for some members wallets....so revenue could well be flat to up a bit. Chery coming on may help with that revenue number.
I read that trade creditors was down by over a 1m. That's a positive for next year. Means funds generated now can be applied to other liabilities namely debt, unless the cash at bank is deemed too low and that needs to be rebuilt to a higher level, as cash went from circa 2m to 850k from memory, also could argue that went to pay down the creditors.....irrespective finds generated next year will have a positive effect on the Balance Sheet.

There is talk the fan donations will go towards debt reduction. We seem to be spending on the right things now. I have no problem with debt if it's going towards a proper strategy. The football department can't be where they pull money out of to pay down debt or you are just slowly bleeding out. You'd rather pull money from marketing or admin roles than the area of the club that will build success and make the financials take care of themselves.

Windhager inherits No. 2 legacy, Saints' guernsey numbers revealed
Marcus Windhager will carry on Danny Frawley’s memory this coming season and beyond, taking on the mantle of the club’s No. 2 guernsey made famous by the late Saints champion.www.saints.com.au
Cliff notes:
Giants offered Saints 16 and future 2nd rounder for 13. Saints said no.
Saints saying no meant Giants took Adelaide 2023 picks instead of West Coast's 2024 first.
Blah blah Curtain, blah blah talk and no action.
Giants actually took Adelaide picks, Adelaide took Curtain.
Essendon gave away a 2nd rounder to Geelong to gazump unknown clubs and move up one place for Caddy.
More offers, no takers.
Giants did an Essendon and gave us the future 2nd (tied to Adelaide) they'd offered earlier to move up one place for Leake. North offered future 2nd to slide back four/five spots, not known what Adelaide offered to slide back three.
Other clubs did stuff, we took Collard.
Old Maso is a legend, sounds like a solid teammate. I remember thinking when he came to the club why do we want this spud but could not have been more wrong.
