AFLW 2024 - Round 10 - Chat, game threads, injury lists, team lineups and more.
One thing that surprised me watching him on the weekend (because I haven't seen a huge amount of him in the pre-season) was how good his hands were. When he slotted his first goal... I went absolutely BALLISTIC
He's going to be better than any player we have had on our list for 20 years.
No chance. It's the Pou all the way.Yes we did and Owens could be the best of them , I feel he has the ability to be a Dangerfield type impact player - only 19 and has been thrust in the forward line as a key target and is more than holding his own.
I'm amazed how young these kids are that are already showing how good they are way before they are any where near there prime.
Not only the guys on our team,

Several deft little handballs, creating goals or chances at goals.
Part of that was very quick decision making. Something I feel we lack as a whole.
It seemed he used his hands in contests instinctually - choosing the correct option to either give or turn and kick.
Staggered that he went at 10. All indications were top 3... we finally have got the football gods on our side.
Thought it was a really important move that the president gave him his jumper before the game. Think the whole club knows he's one we can build a team around.
We were very lucky he slipped to 10, we got a steal there, he looked the best of last year's Top 10 draft picks in Rd1 along with Sheezel who went at 3.
About time we had some luck with draft picks after getting screwed with McCartin, picking Billings ahead of Bontempelli hurt us too but Phillipou reminds me a lot of Bontempelli so picking him could help to make up for that mistake.
Clubs panicked over his personality. They couldn’t comprehend his unique personality. On his talent and athletic profile his upside is limitless. It was a pretty strong top 10. I can see why he slipped but looks an absolute star quality kid. Not many slip that far down the order. A little bit of luck fell our way for a change.
I thought while overshadowed by Sheezel starring, Ginbey looked excellent in that match too. Cam McKenzie looks a safe 200 game player with A grade qualities. Ollie Hollands look the goods and a few others are possibly the best of the lot. Wardlaw looks a star quality kid and Humphrey has the skill set to be a special player too. Looks like it might have been a super strong front end of the draft.

Owens was awesome as well.Whilst everyone's sucking the Pou's bum, on rewatch Bytel was actually very very good too. Stocker underrated also. I really feel like we've got a future now and Windy returning will be another happy moment. The kids are alright.
Now we need the injury gods on our side!Staggered that he went at 10. All indications were top 3... we finally have got the football gods on our side.

We need exactly that kind of personality. His pursuit of excellence and honing his craft while aiming to be the best player in the completion is everything we need.
There’s gonna be Bont/Billings like comparisons for Pou & Tsatas for the rest of their careers now.Essendon is the team Phillipou wants to beat the most. So that basically confirms the rumour that was going around that he wanted to be pick 3 and wants to make Essendon to pay for it. Gotta love it.
Yep he will be the best pick #10 since Patrick Dangerfield slid to Adelaide due to him having to finish year 12 the following year. As Mordy has suggested finally the football gods are smiling on us - Owens, Windhager, NWM, Phillipou, Caminiti and others yet to debut. Its marvellous what a couple of sucessful recruiting years can do for a club.We were very lucky he slipped to 10, we got a steal there, he looked the best of last year's Top 10 draft picks in Rd1 along with Sheezel who went at 3.

2024 draft will get us Boston Everett & Elwood Peckett..both father sons..Yep he will be the best pick #10 since Patrick Dangerfield slid to Adelaide due to him having to finish year 12 the following year. People suggest Windhager & Owens fell into our laps as NGA's, perhaps they did. But if we remember Owens was a late call up to replace an injured Vic Metro player and he wasnt even on the draft radar until he played that break out trial match. So I think Dal Santo and our academy should be praised with how they handled those two. A lot of times in life you make your own luck and that was the case with our academy lads.
No..he’s very much in the twilight of his career!wha
what about someone like darling
