I just don't really see what Perez's AFL attribute is now. He doesn't accumulate enough to take advantage of his kicking, he's not really a lockdown defender and his injuries have robbed him of any real pace. So what role is he going to play?

He's our Eric Hipwood that's why he's on the list.

Every list needs a guy that has a vague resemblance to Rafa Nadal.

No one has been told they’re leaving or staying in their exit meetings at North?

This is good mail.
Not sure why were being nice to Tom Morris but its harmless news I guess.
Nothing will be announced till after the BnF so for those like myself keen to see some blood spilled, gotta wait a bit longer.
Shiels staying on is good and hopefully Todd does do.
Dawson would be a wait and see on McKay and a few of the rookies would also need to see what happens with the list.

Do you see him playing ahead of bergman, goater, Thomas or sheezel if they're in the backline?
I'm just being realistic mate.

Of course he is behind those boys in terms of his football. But there was nothing in your post, saying get rid of him because he is behind these boys. Yours was just a very brutal post.

We need to keep as many of the current list together, in the hope that most of them will grow to be good to very good footballers. I for one do not choose to say who is going to make it and who is not, but rather I want to see less list changes than we have see since and including 2020. In my opinion, the 2020 culling set our club back substantially and we need to be very careful now to consolidate and build a solid core of around 30 to 35 AFL quality players, any one of whom can come in and play a role, at the very least, at any time.

Someone texted it to me so it’s not official?
free's been reported categorically by marc mcgowan

no official club announcement

gabelich and tom morris separately had the shiels news today

Shiels, Free, Goldi, Drury, Dawson in that order on unsigned players most likely to go round again in 2024.

Perez, Bonar, Young, Mahony, Spicer, Howe, Turner and Edwards all likely to go.

Rookie list this year has Shiels, Howe, Turner, Edwards, Drury, Dawson, Free, Hansen. That needs to be trimmed by 4. Shiels and Free will sign on and Hansen has a contract. So it’s gonna come down to Dawson vs Drury IMO and if McKay goes I think it strengthens Dawsons chances.

Alternative is that if Perez, Bonar, Young, Mahony, and Spicer all go, Dawson or Drury could be elevated to the senior list for a year.

Unless the commission does the sensible thing and lets us extend the rookie list for another season.

Morris is the biggest grub journalist getting around. We are just greasing the wheels here to kick back at Essendon if they are genuinely trying to have a crack at TT. Changing the narrative around it so we get the whip hand

I doubt Drury will. But Dawson may.
Based on Rawlings comments on Gettable last month and our submission to the AFL, extra rookie list spots wont be part of the package we ask for so hence the trim back.
