Chop Perez. Can’t find it, and does minimal with it when he has it. Great size and moves well, but is terminal due to the first two issues.
Having an acl always hurts players development and puts them behind others at similar age . He won’t be the first or last to have their career placed at the crossroads due to this. Hope he can get a good run at it ,either with us or elsewhere.

Can't believe what I'm reading about people seriously wanting to retain Perez & Turner. They'd be axed in a heartbeat at any other club and at any other time (and in Turner's case years ago!). While we are at it let's keep young guns like Mahony & Druey too eh...

Those 4 would be amongst the first when it comes to delistings.

He should stay

Perez is probably the only out of contract player I’d keep

Kicks well off both feet just needs continuity

Will be that playmaker type for us
It’s just that awkward 180’s body shape we have an abundance of, with not much speed, which we also have an abundance of…

He said to a friend yesterday at work.

‘You’d be wrapt with the win’
He replied.
‘Yeah but weird about that tanking stuff’
Then he said ‘we still think we’ll get him’
Now I don’t want to be made out a liar by ****ing Perez.

Remember the old theory - “ A cockroach is the only animal that could survive a Nuclear apocalypse….”

If Turner someone get though again this year ?!

Then he’s entitled to say “ Hey Mr Roach 🪳… hold my beer”

The question is replace them with what? If we draft even lower probability kids then we are stuck with them for two years at least.

I am not sure it is a lot better for the development of the players we do think will make it if they have to try and gel with a revolving door of players, I don't mind us focusing on quality and really only bring in budget players to fill a critical hole in the list if we can't find a top talent.

Imagine the environment when we bring in Wardlaw, Sheezel and others and say you need to bond with these players, but we are just going to get rid of a third of our list every year, it is going to be disruptive.

I mean if we had a ton of good picks and a lot of high end talent coming in the sure, but every team, including the top 4 have list cloggers because they perform roles and are low cost/low maintenance. I doubt anyone needs to get on Turner's arse to do sessions, he is a defacto development coach.

It would be ideal if we had top end talent all over the list, but we wouldn't be on the arse end of the ladder for so long if we had that. We need to correct the list in a planned and methodical manner, not just delist everyone we don't think is premiership material.

He genuinely doesn't move well lol. Looked like he was running in treacle in most of his games this year. I'd keep him on though purely because there's more upside there than in the Mahonys, Drurys and Turners of the world

Who in our 22 is he going to push out of a position? Too slow to play wing, isn't going to play mid, not good enough for the HB..

He’s probably the 7th defender rotation off the bench I rate him higher than Bergman

And at the least would be depth/just outside the team
Higher than Bergman.

Higher than Bergman.

For a second I thought you said higher than Bergman.

Good one champ.

Next ole mate Nostrils will be saying he don't rate Bailey.

Actually Jack announced them on the night as part of his speech
Similar to when I worked at a certain company. At one of the monthly town hall meetings, the head of the department announced that a number of positions had to be cut as part of his pep-talk. Normally at the end of the meeting a list of names would appear on the big screen - those who were getting some kind of award or recognition.

That month about 50 names went up. The CIO asked everyone to look for their name and if they could see it to stay seated. Everyone else please leave the theatre immediately.

That was the way 50 people found out that they had been made redundant.

Didn't know you worked at Beyond Blue during the Kennett regime.

We used to see enough of Kennett, believe me.

Indeed. He actually stared myself and another left wing radical schoolteacher, direct in the eye at the opening of a certain Gas facility, about 25 years ago, as he declared, "we got this thing built despite the efforts of a a few local dissidents (or similar description)".

Never mind though, at an earlier meeting at his Electoral Office in Ashburton, with his secretary, not him, she offered myself and another of the dissidents a lolly, as she gazed down at us from her deliberately placed higher chair than ours from behind her desk. We were so chuffed by such largesse on her behalf. What a "reward" for having a Gas facility built in your back yard.

You will of course know the particular Gas Facility, SoS.

I do H. I have to confess that I briefly worked at an organisation that supported the particular facility amongst its many other gaseous assets but I had a bit of a think about it and decided that it was not where I wanted to be.

Having said that, I think Perez snapped his achilles didn't he? After a blistering debut first half.

I don't think a lack of talent is his problem but like several others over the years, he lost his speed due to injury and at the elite level it doesn't take much to be well below the opponent. Just that initial burst speed is enough to make a difference.

Goodness gracious me. Maybe an IMO to make that a little softer? Oh well, its Big Footy I suppose.
Do you see him playing ahead of bergman, goater, Thomas or sheezel if they're in the backline?
I'm just being realistic mate.
