No it won’t they will still suck and we and others are going to look like idiots for not doing that deal that Richmond did. Tigers already were getting an A and they turned it into an A+.
The whole trade period and draft just kept coming up trumps for them. They just seemingly got people to overpay them every step of the way and seemingly winners of every trade

I know they are going suck majorly next year, with all these kids but they are just massively setting up the future

They could probably sell the next pick for another 1st rounder. I would think someone would want Shanahan enough to pay it. Port maybe? Otherwise they may just take him themselves and complete their tall forward bingo card. He’s had a very good year.

How does free agent compo turn out in regards to future pick trades.

Let’s say north have pick 2 next year (going to tigers) and ldu leaves as band 1, will they get pick 3 for him or does it come after their first live pick.

I see another future 1st headed our way tomorrow :) . Please be West Coasts!

Reckon it could be Port with Shanahan still on the board.

Tied to wherever their pick would have landed.

Biggest loser of this draft is the Bulldogs.

Could have asked for North's future 1st for Caleb Daniel. Amateurs.

can't trade 2026 picks this year

tigers didnt need to pick tomorrow

27 and 28 for our f1 would've been more beneficial for both sides than the f2

Richmond will trade 28 tomorrow anyway

Swans fans are generally speaking pretty angry at the drafting tonight. It is beyond pathetic how we draft with our first rounders, it having been a problem for years now and it seems to be getting worse. We always reach for players and often draft for positions that are not particularly urgent.

Outside of their first two selections, didn’t rate the tigers picks. Surely there will be enough hits in there though.

Norf lollllll
We did amazing IMO. First time in a long time that I’m actually happy with our first round drafting.

Harry Armstrong, Jonty Faull, Taj Hotton, and Luke Trainor all have big upside. 3 out of 4 of these players were at some stage rated in the top 10 for a reason.

Only miss is skipping on Murphy Reid. He’s exactly what we needed and I think he’s a special talent. Fremantle got him instead. Good for them I guess. Oh well, I’m still happy

Do feel your recent drafting has been poor and not discussed as the academy players have been guns

You're going to have a bad couple of years but I like the Tiger's strategy. Can then bring in some trades or FAs in 3 or so years time.

Richmond’s team just picked the eyes out of it.

Unbelievable group even with the picks they had. I love that they got Faull and Armstrong where they did and Trainor is a bargain if his concussion propensity can be mitigated.

A+++ to their team. Doesn’t mean all the players work out but strategically they were playing 4 dimensional chess tonight.

I wouldn't say that.
The North pick trade was amazing (stupid north).

But I wouldn't touch trainor the way the afl concussion panels are now he's a Nathan Murphy waiting to happen (nice kid but id be staggered if he plays 50 games). Smillie is a risk because he lacks football IQ and while I love hotton the acl is a worry. Faull is the type of player that in a good side could be a valuable role player but in a poor side might be a complete bust. I think Lalor over jagga Smith might be the worst choice of the lot.

Armstrong is good but doesn't justify the rest.
I was quite staggered they didn't take travaglia or Reid frankly-theyve gone for a lot of risk for a team that absolutely has to nail this rebuild before lassie comes in.

Our second and third rounders have been fine, but our first rounders have been awful for a long time now.

Another problem is we just don't address serious needs with our first rounders. We desperately need KPD, KPF and an inside mid but we didn't go for any.

Right now, if McCartin gets injured this year our leading Key Defender will be Melican, and our second key defender, well honestly I have no clue, as we don't really have any others, at least none that you can point to and think "they will definitely be at least a bit okay"
