Turning Houston into Reid/Shanahan/Armstrong/Hotton plus Mraz or Barrett (or trade up for Trainor) would be good business in the end.Murphy Reid would be amazing but I have this feeling the saints are just gonna call him out at their pick 7/8. Look at their midfield and I just cant see how they don’t take a ready made mid.
Its exciting to have a relevant pick at the draft this year after a boring last couple years. Sucks that it cost us Houston but hope we make the most of this.
To be fair I grabbed a game frome tom gross.Re Lindsay, Your view is different to mine.
Terrific long leg.
Very scrappy with the ball inside and lacks toughness and agility.
Ball use has no touch.
You made me go back and look at a game. 22 disposals, 8 go to a team mate, 4 turnovers , and 10 loose balls.
His ball security is shocking in the games I watched him.
Consistently run down from behind including what should have been a highlight centre clearance with a shot on goal and was rundown before getting outside the centre square.
Ok I went and watched another Gerryn game, in this game I can at least see why some people like him. Marked better, kicked very well, showed some poise.Watched a lot of his games and think you might've picked a bad one to watch haha
The other option for me is Charlie West later. But that depends on how we go with the first 2 picks.
Its interesting, for the Saints I would say a Bo Allan type is more of a need because their midfield/HBs are good ball users in NWM, Phillipou, Clark, Sinclair, Hill etc. With the ever-injured nature of Crouch and Jones, I would say they need someone to partner with Steele in that midfield to win some contests. Thats Allan's strength, while his disposal is average, his ball winning abilities suit them well.Murphy Reid would be amazing but I have this feeling the saints are just gonna call him out at their pick 7/8. Why? He’s likely to be a slider and the last ranked mid in the top 20.Crows picking Draper will spoil my night.
Is there a podcast? I can't find oneGeoff Parker on AA tonight when questioned about Murphy Reid.
Very very giddish.
Half let it slip that if he was available he would be the one!
“I wouldn’t be surprised if he went earlier”
“You never know, you might get a nice surprise that he comes to us”
Does Armstrong’s slide end here? He was long considered a top-10 pick, but how he came across in interviews appears to have hurt his stock. Likened to Jeremy Cameron, Armstrong is a good athlete with a mix of speed and endurance who works up the ground and is strong aerially, so the Power could get a bargain here.PLAYERCARDSTART5Jeremy Cameron

Then Reid or some elite talent will slip in to our pick . Why we have to take Whitlock ?Come around to thinking if Shanahan is gone maybe Port are too invested in Whitlock and his up side over Armstrong.
It's an insane choice to have at 13 though.
Armstrong just shouldn't be there.
More like good Jack Darling v bad Jack DarlingDoes anyone else think that Armstrong could either become a Jeremy Cameron or a Josh Schache. I feel like we need a more presence type forward

I’d give every pick we have in this draft and then some for a 50:50 shot at Jeremy CameronDoes anyone else think that Armstrong could either become a Jeremy Cameron or a Josh Schache. I feel like we need a more presence type forward

As I said last year. We'll go through the stages of draft shock. At first we'll be bewildered, then disappointed, then angry and then really happy once we see them at training. My final dream draft is the same it's been for a good month or two and ridiculously, for the first time it seems feasible (as in, the players may be available, not that we'd for sure pick them).
13: Murphy Reid
29: Hamish Davis
36: Tom Sims
50: Clancy Dennis
See you all tomorrow for the melts/celebrations!
I said this on X earlier today that some of Armstrong's work reminds me of JezzaDoes anyone else think that Armstrong could either become a Jeremy Cameron or a Josh Schache. I feel like we need a more presence type forward

Based on my current expectations this would be a massive win for us. However, I am still in the camp of Charlie West over Tom Sims. I know consensus rankings say otherwise but thats where I sit.My final dream draft is the same it's been for a good month or two and ridiculously, for the first time it seems feasible (as in, the players may be available, not that we'd for sure pick them).

I think Saints would be a great fit for Tauru, 3rd tall defender playing lots at Marvel. Seen comparisons to Sicily but really think he was the athletic build to be a Weddle type. Looks to be as quick as him just doesn’t take it on like him.Its interesting, for the Saints I would say a Bo Allan type is more of a need because their midfield/HBs are good ball users in NWM, Phillipou, Clark, Sinclair, Hill etc. With the ever-injured nature of Crouch and Jones, I would say they need someone to partner with Steele in that midfield to win some contests. Tauru maybe is a need because of the loss of Membrey and Battle, but I certainly wouldn't be taking Travaglia if I were Saints given he's at least a year away from being in the midfield
Tauru perhaps has the highest ceiling in this draftI think Saints would be a great fit for Tauru, 3rd tall defender playing lots at Marvel. Seen comparisons to Sicily but really think he was the athletic build to be a Weddle type. Looks to be as quick as him just doesn’t take it on like him.
