It just clicked who Murphy Reid reminds me of... Nick Dal Santo. I was a big NDS fan.

Armstrong seems the most specialised full forward in the draft, you can tell he has been schooled by Matthew Lloyd in the arts of the full forward, his kicking for goal is an example of that intense coaching.
I can just imagine the Adelaide Oval ground staff cracking the sh1ts every time he bends down to pick up a tuft of grass every tine he has a shot for goal.

Yeah but this one is also officially:

Saints Supporter Melts Day

...when we take a half back flanker who could transition into the midfield and a rangy tall who could be anything - yet again.
The Port board here will be mixed I think. Hope I don't have a melt down but perhaps the most likely person to do so in this board 😂

Wonder whether there is any interest in our pick 36. I would use 29 and 36 to see if one of these deals is possible:

GWS: 21 and 56
Sydney: 22 and 59
Bulldogs: 25 and 45

I would look at these deals because my take on the draft is that the first drop off point is around 26 (including bids) and our pick will be 31 (after bids).
Yea look that would be nice, but why on earth would any of those teams be interested in doing that? lol

The same reason why you want to trade up is the same reason those 3 teams will not be trading back.

Hah I'm jealous of your list, shame about the coach but I reckon you get three solid possibilities at picks 13, 29, 36 (assuming that's what happens) and make Luko into a player next year, so no reason you can't be right around the mark

Sydney maybe interested given they really only have 2 quality picks but 36 is a big upgrade on the 50s.

Cal just said that Eagles will take Hotton, is almost a lock ahead of us so Reid will be available at our pick

I don't know too much about Reid but saw his highlights...

Would Reid be projected to become a Butters/Rozee type of player or someone different exceeding their talent?

Do you think he will become a full time midfielder in the future or do his work 50:50 forward/midfield?

Anyone else who might have more acknowledge and seen more of Reid please free to put your opinion.

He carries the ball one handed like Robbie Gray

I don't think he's neither a Butters nor Rozee type. I see a lot of Robbie Gray in the ball handling, smart kicks etc. In terms of a current player, I'd say his type is more Sheezel. Might slightly slower but not by much. He'd be an amazing mix in our midfield and would let Rozee and JHF rotate up forward, including himself in the rotation so yeah 50/50 role

Parker's interviews are fun, he only gives away handshakes and homing pigeons. But he did seem adamant we won't trade up, we don't have the hand for that. No one asked if we would trade back though ;)

He sounded happy with the list structure and would go best available at pick 13, so the focus on a tall forward could be a media invention. Mind you, he could have been bluffing too :D Reid could be the go, or if he goes earlier then Travaglia might slip as that 'could be' player. Port would probably pounce on him.

I really have no dream draft, there seems to be enough good players out there that we should come out of the next few days with a decent hand. And we will get a good player tonight, no matter what.

it will be interesting to see which way we go if both Reid and one of Armstrong/shanahan are there at our first pick. Tall or small?
Have to go with Reid if the other option is Armstrong. If Shanahan is available I'd be more torn on who to pick but probably would go with Reid still because I like the talls later in the draft better than I like the mids later in the draft

One of the phantoms late last night, might have been espn said that apparently shanahan wasn’t that high on our board. Interesting. Reid for me. Would also love to trade up a bit to get trainor if he is sliding as far as it looks he might. Gerreyn late, but I am not sure he is still there at our later picks.
