In the middle he is a get and give midfielder. Which is great if you have him feeding Rozee, Butters and Francis. Quite often gets the ball uses his hips to shrug the half tackle and then give to a runner. He could burst away but he just gives more than not, this is good as it helps to change lanes.I don't know too much about Reid but saw his highlights...
Would Reid be projected to become a Butters/Rozee type of player or someone different exceeding their talent?
Do you think he will become a full time midfielder in the future or do his work 50:50 forward/midfield?
Anyone else who might have more acknowledge and seen more of Reid please free to put your opinion.
Wouldn't necessarily agree with that statement tbh. I think there's quality talls available at the latter parts of the draft. The important thing with Talls is the development and we aren't the best at that for big key forwards.Could be the last chance at a quality tall for a while.
Agree. Lukosious. Georgiades. Marshall will all start. Finlayson might also play due to needing a second ruck, or soldo. I am not high on lord but they also wanted to get him into the team last year until he was injured. It feels pretty well stocked and balanced to me. As long as Marshall’s concussion issues don’t continue into this year, but there is already back up if that eventuated.Does anyone else think there's a push for media for us to take a tall because of Dixon's departure? I don't think we are as set on a KPF at our first pick for sure
And worst case Esava can play that role tooAgree. Lukosious. Georgiades. Marshall will all start. Finlayson might also play due to needing a second ruck, or soldo. Yeah but when you say 'worst case', that is actually the worst ****ing caseAnd worst case Esava can play that role too
I didn't read this in an article but either on BF or X someone mentioned he's more of an introvert/a bit timid. Whether that necessarily translates to AFL I'm not sure but yeahChatting with myself here a bit but the same phantom draft said that Armstrong is potentially sliding due to how he presented in interviews. Don’t know why that would be.
No current season stats available
I would respectfully disagree with the suggestion that we’re not great with developing KPFs.Wouldn't necessarily agree with that statement tbh. Reid, Clarke, West and Dennis I would be happy with. Clarke can also play that intercept role as a 3rd tall, 188cm
Should've asked Suns to stay away from Barrett when we made that 3 way deal. Honestly, would be upset if we let Barrett slip because of bad list management decisions
Swear when it's a NGA pick or F/S for us, clubs are never willing to let them get to us without paying fair value. Meanwhile Ashcroft, who I think is the best in the draft over the last 2 years, will slip to 5.
Jones was a first rounder, Mead was at 25ish. Now Barrett may not get to us.
Just makes getting screwed in the Houston trade even more annoying. Could only happen at Port.Parker also said that we would take a player in the first round according to how they rank them not on needs. He avoided saying we would try to get higher in the draft and a number of times emphasised that after the first 10 the rest of the top 25 were very even. That would suggest we'll wait to see who drops to our pick and if its not someone rated in our top 10 he might be happy to trade back with pick 13 to get more picks inside the top 25.

Absolutely don't want another Todd Marshall. Despite his obvious talent his mentality & lack of physicality has been a bust. His concussion issues have obviously been a contributing factor.I don’t want another Todd Marshall who is exactly who he reminds me of. I want a strong mark who has sticky hands. I worry about his ability when he gets body contact similar to how Todd struggles with it.
And just to clarify Todd is an okay player I am just hoping for a bit more with our pick 13 in what looks a strong draft.
If we are prioritising someone who can chop out in the ruck its a huge mistake.
Totally agree.I really have no dream draft, there seems to be enough good players out there that we should come out of the next few days with a decent hand. And we will get a good player tonight, no matter what.
Yep, have to strike while we can. We can get a mid with our 2nd pick.Butcher to one side who was flawed when we picked him up think getting a very highly rated tall in the draft is rare.
Armstrong is a tall who could actually play round one.
That just doesn't happen as a rule.
