At Pick 33 we will have enough options. Surely one of Sims, Gerryn, Mraz, Barrat, Oliver, Davis etc will be available. So any trade deals that includes pick 33 means other side are not losing out much as this draft is quite equal from 15-35 or so

Gerreyn looks impressive too

Hard not to think of Hawkins with that #26 on the back, although I do think Sims moves a fair bit better than Gerreyn. Not sure Gerreyn would fit into our playing style for this reason.

Sims would fit in better with his athleticism, and once his body develops I think he'll be a bit of a brute. Key forward line of Dear - Lewis - Sims would be hard to stop, and you could even use Sims as a back up ruck so it's not really a bad idea having the 3 big fellas in your 22.

I don't think trading our future to creep up the board is a good idea if we have T. Sims on the board at our first pick.

You'd probably take the risk if it meant we get Hotton, but otherwise Sims looks good for what we need.

If Taj Hotton wasn't injured he would go top 3 and if he played like he did for Sandy in the champs he would've gone pick 1 imo, he will slide out of the top 10 because of the knee and no champs, but not far and if he gets his body right will likely be a bargain, he was dominating in the forward line, on the wing and in the midfield, he looks special and I only had him around pick 10 early because I wanted to see champs evidence before I went high on my rankings with him, imo if FOS and he were injury free i think they would have been my top 2, but they were injury plagued and FOS played ordinary when he was fit, so it was a frustrating year.

I think if we land Faull, Sims, Stumpf or Gerreyn it would give us depth in an area where we need it, with Lewis always injured and Chol as inconsistent as he is.

Hamish Davis could also be a good Gunston replacement In a couple years time

If we can move up the draft board for Hotton I'd be all for it.

Kid has something special.

A rotating forward line of Wiz, Hotton, Ginni, Croc and Moore would be electric.

If he can move in the middle he's that X-factor mid that would be the cherry on top. Sam and co have made it very clear in the last few years we are looking at key bookends and that X-factor mid.

you're asking why a young player who has shown nothing in junior footy shouldnt get drafted? his draft year was last year, he is 19 yo, he missed out last year and MSD this year, he is bog average as a junior on the wing, off field he seems very immature, i dont see a reason for Ned Maginness or Ky Burgoyne to be drafted, Ky Burgoyne doesnt have an athletic build and Maginness is tall and slim on the wing, but hasnt shown speed or kicking ability or good decision making or instincts to give a chance on imo, there are plenty of better options in a deep draft to take a chance on imo.

If Hotton gets past the Bulldogs Pick 17, would you trade our F1 with the Tigers Pick 18 to pick him up? I don't think the Giants will trade one of their picks.

Hotton won’t slide that far. Tigers would be mad with all their picks not to take him with 10 or 11 as they have years to wait down the bottom. Otherwise dees may look at 9 or freo at 14. I also doubt tigers would take just an f1 at that point and we also need an f3 back which they don’t have. The most likely pick we can get would be a later tigers pick starting at 20 but again needing to solve the f3 issue so more likely gws at 21(if they don’t trade 15/16 up) or Sydney at 22 after they I think take shanahan at 19. If he was there at 21 you get it done. Otherwise would still consider for one of the whitlocks faull or shanahan. We could just sit and take 33 likely to get Sims Mraz who would be good value picks.
