I’m just watching on Foxtel Round 1, 1987, Collingwood v Swans at VIC Park.
What a contrast. Swans are up 14.10 to 3.3. Capper has 7 goals to half time. Domination all over the ground. Typical Tom Hafey coached team where there is no carry on by ANY of the players after a goal. Zero!
What a bunch of entitled pretenders that play footy these days. I think of Geelong as one of the few teams that carry on these days.
We are number one for carry on.
Just happy to be watching this game. Brings back great memories.

So reports today of 21 Thursday night games and the AFL keen to include Sunday night games. Moving to a game that revolves around tv audience with little regard for those attending. With these revelations it is little wonder the clubs including ours seemed so keen on driving the 2025 memberships and getting the rollovers done prior to the release of the fixture.

I hate Thursday night and Sunday Twilight. I will add Sunday night to the list if they introduce it.

I actually don’t mind a Thursday night game - and as part of the TV audience, I find it hard to be critical of the proposed scheduling.

And if it’s a home game, I see no reason I wouldn’t attend on a Thursday night.

We’ll be back to 60,000 members before too long.

I love Sunday twilight, no rushing and easy drive to and from the ground. Thursday and Friday night games are an absolute punish to get to with the Sydney traffic.
Public transport not an option?

Fair enough, agree the last one hurts the most. I always sign up just a sucker for punishment.
I love supporting the club.
I'm just sick of the GF results & hate watching the same thing over & over.
It was obvious we hadn't toughened our one on one defensive structures even when we were 13 & 1.
We bled clusters of multiple goals.

I hate that.

So the AFL ask all the coaches, a number of players and administrators to give up their own time just prior to Xmas to attend a summit involving where the game is at and the future.
All the players and coaches say that they hate the sub rule and it should just go to 5 on the bench.
The AFL then turn around and say "thanks for your thoughts but we've decided to completely ignore you and stay with the sub".
Next time they ask for coach/player input, I wonder what sort of response they'll get.

I don't understand the hate for the sub. Biggest thing is maintaining 4 v 4 on the bench in the case of an injury. Don't understand how 5 on the bench is a response to this.
