We may all argue about the team on here, is Hayward good, trade Heeney, Mills should be mid or back, Amartey will never be fit enough etc etc.

But at least the team selection is mostly sound.

It would drive me insane if Luke Beveridge was coaching our club.

The amount of players who he has wasted or turned from great players into ordinary players is wild.

Hawks & Bombers now pushing for their game to be R1 every year....because this is why the Northern states can't have good things. FOMO.

I think there are ways to structure the beginning of the season better next year. So NSW/QLD teams get marquee games, without over half the competition being left out.

Personally I don't really care what if we have our own game to start the season. It will annoy me more in a few weeks, when we are having a bye, than if everyone had just played the first weekend.

Most sides being away for R1 allows the AFL to have 2 byes in a season which appeases the AFLPA

A major review into Brisbane’s Olympic planning will reportedly see the proposal for a $2.7 billion Gabba redevelopment scrapped, in favour of an even more expensive new venue.
:rolleyes:o_O

Sydney and Gold coast should play on anzac day afternoon

Even at this early stage the signs for the Lions are not good. They get a lead but can't maintain it for long. One of the major problems is lazy mids. Without Neale they struggle because he is one of the few mids who run two ways & defend. Their forwards are just as bad. Once the ball is lost they slide off. Chasing at only half pace. The other thing is that they can have great intensity, but only in small bursts. They had a burst in the first, then a small burst in the third, then only a whimper. If they continue like this they are certain to miss finals.

Wouldn't be surprised if they implode from here... they've fought back from a poor start before. But if they don't turn it around quickly they could all lose faith after coming so close last year. From there I think Fagan would have lost the group.

My thoughts on champion data are well known , tonight on Sportsday SEN Daniel Hoyne rated the sides with the best ball movement and likely to be in the flag window , has St Scum on top , mentions 7 other teams, but not us. Hope we prove this poindexter wrong
How could Saints be top? They lost to Cats. Baffling. But then again he is baffling. Some of the gobshite he comes up with.
