I mean, her explanation seems pretty reasonable. Right now their lives are so different and busy it's good to have their own space and when they do live together they don't want to fall into a pattern of being joined at the hip. Perhaps their way of doing that is a bit out of the ordinary, but who has the energy to care?
Seems a lot of Collingwood supporters wish Moore would worry more about footy & less about “hetero-dynamic learned behaviours”.

Your way of explaining it makes perfect sense.
Theirs makes them sounds like smug plonkers.

Remarkably turned on him quick as skipper this year online

I dunno man, she's a specialist in sex and relationships, that's the language she uses. I don't know if she went into detail explaining, but having read the read transcript I think a lot of people saw "Hetero-normative" and wet the bed.

It's funny, when you're a kid at school you're taught to be kind to others, to be sensitive to others, to be aware of others. Those are inherent qualities society considers important enough to teach children. And yet as adults, those qualities are wrapped up into a singular term "woke" and used pejoratively, incessantly, critically, as weaknesses or flaws.

It's so weird.

Why is it so difficult to just let people ****ing live their lives.

It's not exactly unheard of. Plenty of older couples in Scandinavia have seperate beds or rooms.

Not having a go at you, but this is kind of what she meant: that if a relationship doesn't conform to certain behaviours that are expected of a heterosexual relationships, it's considered not valid or pointless by many.

I guess the counter to that is live your life and don't broadcast it on podcasts ?

But yeah , I wouldn't have listened or read or cared .

They can live in garbage bins and play Oscar the Grouch for all I care, it's their life.

Them going on a podcast and broadcasting what they want is them living their lives. To engage with it or not is a choice. I saw the headline and by-line, the subject didn't grab me, so I simply scrolled past it without a second thought.

Too many people are making that choice to engage in things they don't like or don't agree with. It's just hate-mongering, and it's become a full-time hobby for way, way too many people.

Yeah true but if you want privacy or no judgement then you don't share it, not saying that's right, but we know people will examine everything like that they can.

But I also agree, like you say don't listen,
don't watch then if no one is interested there isn't a podcast most likely .

It is certainly drawing a long bow to suggest this affects his footy in any way

Just skimmed the last 10 or so posts.. I guess this is what the VFL media talks about when their beloved collingwood are sh*t.
Whats a WOKE? is it another BS acronym that I couldn't GAF about. FFS this is a Swans media thread that is discussing the love life of an out of form w***er from a Victorian club. WOW?!

Oh, where is Bedford when you want him.. I get the feeling that even Bedders gave up on this off topic crap

Writing this because reading about collingwood is offensive, reading about their captain is also offensive, But reading about his relationship on the Swans Media Thread - Lost for words

It's the general AFL discussion thread

It's their perspective. Maybe people who share that perspective and their experiences can relate in some way.

I couldn't relate to it one bit. I absolutely love living with my missus and the moment she knocks off and walks in the door usually late at night is the highlight of my day. But that's us. Darcy Moore and his partner are Darcy Moore and his partner.

I don't care or understand why they felt compelled to share their perspective on a podcast. But I also know I and almost everyone else wouldn't have even known about them sharing this on a podcast if a bunch of media outlets (conveniently mostly News Corp-related) and hate-mongers on Twitter and the like hadn't covered it and shared it so rabidly.

A parallel: when Chad Warner had that nude 'leak' a few years back, I don't remember seeing or hearing a single thing about Warner's "nudes" anywhere on the internet. Until a bunch of news outlets reported on it. And then suddenly I was seeing it everywhere. Because a bunch of grimy outlets exploited it for scandal and clicks. Hate-mongers do the exact same thing on topics they're supposedly "sick of seeing and hearing about."

I agree.

I also look forward to the podcast series "Living with a man who loves Rowbottom more than he loves me" every week when your missus brings it out.

I don't think they are. She's a sex and relationships expert who went on a podcast about that topic and shared a personal perspective.
It's other people who are getting hot under the collar about it because they're way too emotionally invested in Moore's relationship for some reason.

Yeah more than fair , Caeser said it well.

haha.. whoops, got that one wrong.

ok, remove media thread from my post and I still stand by it

You are offended reading about Collingwood? good luck living then 😂

She better lawyer up then because I could so easily respond with the "Living with a woman who loves Heeney more than she loves me and thinks he should get given the ball every time someone tackles him because he's sexy" podcast.

(In fairness she rates Rowbottom third in our team. She had Dane Rampe as second - I stupidly showed her the robe.)

I'd probably listen to both after a win 😂

I imagine Collingwood supporters are just looking for a target to vent their frustration & have decided that Moore might be married to a wannabe Markle / Kardashian.

I wasn't aware of his relationship before today, I just read a random Pies Facebook post, facebook showed it in my feed randomly.

There was a lot of chatter about its time for Nick Daicos to take over as Captain, Moore
doesn't give a shit, lets them down etc. They loved him a few months ago

It's nothing to do with it being a heterosexual relationship so it's a bit weird that's getting brought up.

So they made a podcast not wanting engagement? Sounds a bit backwards.
