He's good at playing the villain and going after players who some deem untouchable. Didn't like his comments on Heeney's grand final. Also, going after a guy after he has retired is ordinary. He's the new Robert Walls who was similarly harsh in his criticism.

Stephenson has a heart condition that he has to manage for the rest of his life. Been doing so throughout his AFL career.

Maybe he has to look at life outside of football and the stresses he puts his body through and query why?

Some people can’t understand that Footy is not the be all in some players lives, The decision is a big one for a player to make and more power to him for making the call.

For 2023 we were the least funded of the northern clubs. Equal with Power, Doggies and the Demons. Assume in 2024 we are still middle of the road.

Having lived in quite a few countries overseas - I’ve come to acutely appreciate the benefits of a society in which it’s ok to make fun of things - humour is good for the soul, particularly in dark times.

But Australia is sadly heading down the path of less tolerant societies, where fun and humour are clamped down on.

Taking offence at everything isn’t a virtue.

So 45 year old goatee-wearing Troy from the Facebook comments section might comment "the world's gone soft, can't have fun anymore", but will he apply the same easy-going, open-minded nature to, say, an all-female reboot of his favourite movie, or a Pride parade, or a Welcome to Country ceremony? Methinks not.
