According to the article on the site, "in the coming weeks".When do we find out about the coaching structure?
Agree with your points, not sure he’s head coach material. BB was a former teacher and his passion is in actual tuition/coaching. He became marginalised in his role at the Pies and was never going to break the Leppa-McRae bond. I think he’ll be a good acquisition at the Saints with the kids as he’ll stay in his lane, but the move makes sense for someone that will be eyeing a key coaching role within the Tassie setup in the coming yearsStrikes me as an intelligent guy who has worked under successful regimes at Hawks & Pies so if he is half smart should have some good insights. Presumably RTB met with him and reckons he is an upgrade - if that’s the case I’m all in.
Also presumably caused the Pies some pain by destabilising & losing some IP - bonus points!
BUT certainly doesn’t strike me as Head Coach material - won’t get another gig.
I agree re his passions of tuition and coaching. Hopefully his contribution is to fast track our young players.Agree with your points, not sure he’s head coach material. In an interview I heard, BB stated he took the role as he was keen to get back into coaching (as opposed to being in a director of coaching role).Director of Coaching for BB would be glorious, overseeing development and NGA as well as game day line coaches. We have been screaming out for that or (similarly) a senior assistant for some time. Typical coaching structure throughout the AFL.
Yep. I could see Bolton - forwards, Harvs- mids, Rivers - backs, Goddard - VFL, Enright - Director/senior assistant/RL’s right hand man/tea lady.In an interview I heard, BB stated he was keen to get back into coaching (as opposed to being in a director of coaching role).
Oh christ, Bolton sounds like a poor fit for a direct coaching position, I hope that he's changed since then. Hopefully Lyon keeps his eye on him. I wasn't a fan of this appt and this only confirms my fears. An interesting read on Zach Tuohy's thoughts about Brendon BoltonPLAYERCARDSTART2Zach Tuohy

I hope the Saints dietitian doesn't have biscuits on any of her menus.
BB might go ape.
I might nickname him Crackers.
Can confirm Damian Carroll was in Ireland very recently. Really nice fella so I’m told, he came into our shop as he was rapt to see the Saints flag in the window.
We had a new Irish lad training with us late in the year - I dont know his name sorry. He was a lithe looking medium sized kid who the regular training goers suggested we were pretty keen on. Id suspect Damian might have been finalising his move and perhaps looking at other kids. He didnt happen to say why he was there did he?
I hope he threw down his wallet. Can confirm Damian Carroll was in Ireland very recently. Really nice fella so I’m told, he came into our shop as he was rapt to see the Saints flag in the window.
