I’m no authority but I watched a game hoping to be impressed by him because everything I’d seen looked so good.

Had 20+ possessions and I reckon 2 kicks hit a target. Everything else was fine but his kicking that day turned me right off
I’d say you caught him on a bad day. Pretty widely regarded as the best/most creative user of the pill. Hard to argue watching his clips, opens teams up with his kicking.

Buddy and Daniher

KPF I can think that have been traded this century including a few washed up ones and others that didn’t meet potential

Carey
Fev
Ottens
Hall
Modra
Tarrant
Croad
Everett (probably more ruck)
Ryder (again more ruck)
Boyd
Patton
Vickery
T Cloak
Cam Mcarthy
Mitch Clarke
Cummings
Gerig
Josh Kennedy
Gunston
Luke Jackson (again probably more ruck)
Ben brown
McStay
Dixon
Hogan
None of those were in their prime like a lynch or Cameron besides buddy.

Most have an asterisk next to their name for various reasons.

Just in regards to the why didn't we draft any forwards in recent times discussion, we actually answered that same question from a viewer and there is 1 pretty important factor that plays a part in why we didn't.

Ben King

huge question marks over both these payers durability. Fawcett sick all year & Bauer is very injury prone. Qn marks over Lynch's ability after 2 horrendous seasons for him and the club.
Qn marks over Gibcus, Lefau post injury & over Ryan & Kosi's form.

we spooned. Got the draft hand to bring in a tall fwd & a ruck.
Fawcett had Glandular fever in the preseason and the back stress fractures from growing still.

If we don’t take Whitlock I’ll believe you

in regards to Cadman being a target?

I’m saying if we don’t take Whitlock in this draft it strengthens you’ve argument that we’re targeting Cadman or King. Not sure how we do it though through compromised drafts

I’ve gone off Jagga Smith.i always liked him at pick 6, but now I’m back to where I started. He’s too lightly framed. In our weak midfield he’ll play a lot of footy in his first 5 seasons. He’ll be battered in that time. My concern is that he ends up being injured a lot when he should be in his prime (mid 20’s).

I’m guessing that tall and strong mid-forwards will be the match winners by the end of this decade. Every club will have 1-3 of them. When 1 of Langford or Smillie will be available at pick 6 then we have to take him.

Just to clarify, the King one was something being worked on for the last 2 seasons with the view to get him end of last year, but with Dimma moving to the Suns that killed any chance of that, so he isn't part of the equation for anything moving forward, he extended in Feb this year on the back of Dimma landing there.

Cadman however is where a lot believe strong interest still is. This is where I have felt that a NMFC future 1st as part of any pick 2 deal could come in handy. That or we have to wait till 2026 possibly.

I'm with you, if we don't draft a tall forward or we take one really late I'd be more inclined to think we are filling that need some other way. e.g trade.

I think we draft a key forward for sure. Its just who and when?

Armstrong or Shannahan early or one of the Whitlocks later. You'd think that one of these or at minimum we take 1 KPF.

It's what makes this draft so open for us. Its not like were piling all our focus into one area of the draft.

Blair right now im sure

Thats all well and good but we realisticly need 2 quality forwards to compete for flags again. Its a must that we draft one this year or next IMO. I'd do it this year.

That is pretty concerning that we didn't have a back up plan for if King was a dud. The fact that he has failed to live up to hype is further evidence that it was a failed strategy.
