You've just disqualified yourself as a judge of footy talent, because he blew away many observers, including Richmond VFL coach Steve Morris: "“I was really excited by Finn's game. He looked a class above the level. The really impressive thing from Finn was the fact that he probably could have thrown the towel in after a really heavy knock in the first quarter that reduced his time up the ground and around the footy, but he put his hand up to stay out on the field for the team and just looked really classy with ball in hand, made some really good decisions, and showed his lateral movement and strength in contest. Really exciting to see him step up and match it with senior players at VFL level.”

Compare that to Morro's words about Jagga in the same game: “It was great to have young Jagga Smith in Richmond colours over the past few weeks. It was the first time we got to see him in great conditions, and I thought he led the way around the contest with 17 contested possessions and seven clearances. He's got a bright future ahead of him.

'He's got a bright future' is not exactly 'He looked a class above the level.'

If you think all Finn did in that game was one nice baulk you don't understand what you were looking at. Everything he did screamed 'too good for these duds'.

Now I'm concerned that we promoted Morris.

They’re all leaders

Jagga - metro and oakleigh captain
FOS - country co-captain and oakleigh vc
Langford - stingrays captain and vc at country
Lalor - GVW and Country co captain
Smillie - eastern and afl academy captain.
Draper - SA captain

It’s not just cost they are the best players it’s because they’re a sensational group of professionals and high character kids.
Hynes was co-captain with Langford at the stingrays

lol....

No.1 draftees previously scored a $10,000 NAB portfolio, but that was last awarded two years ago, with Telstra taking over the sponsorship and the prize yet to be determined.

Harley Reid last year became the first top selection to receive the Allen Aylett Medal in recognition of the achievement.

Hope we don't take a Key forward at pick 11 if it means passing up on guys like Hotton, Berry, Bo Allan, Xavier Lindsay, Reid. I feel as though Simms is as good a key position prospect as any and he should still be available at picks 23 and 24.

At pick 18 I reckon we just take whichever available key forward we rank the highest. A chance Shanahan is there but most likely J Whitlock, M Whitlock, Faull, Gerreyn, Sims. Plus later choices like Charlie Nichols and Floyd Burmeister

I've got a feeling the KF's will go earlier than expected. They always do.
I think we need to take 1 at 11.
1,6,10 mids. 11-best KF

and to think we're guaranteed to be able to get two of them is amazing ....

I see the good ole drafting half back flankers is still in vogue with some 😜 🤦‍♂️
I’m not for drafting half back flankers that are just running defenders. I think you can turn any player with speed and half decent skills into a running defender.
If a player can play half back like vlaustin and broad, that can read the play, intercept and set up as well as defend well I’m all for it.
I was replying to the comment claiming that Allan doesn’t get enough of the footy and is like RCD who was very one dimensional and if we take Lalor, Smillie and Allan that at least Allan has the flexibility of being able to play back at first whilst still developing as a mid.
I’m interested to know though obviously you don’t want any half back flankers, do we just draft all players that are midfielders or mid forwards and try and fit them all into the side? 🤷‍♂️

Full season highlights of the slick, classy and clever Murphy Reid. It was an incredibly successful season for Murphy who was named as the MVP of a Vic Metro team that won the Champs, as well as being one of the driving forces of a Sandy Dragons team that stomped their way to another Talent League flag.

No, their not, you're not a recruiter so what makes your opinion so much better than anyone elses? Also, a lot of us here watched FOS play in our VFL team (not just a video clip) and his performance was below expectations. He did one nice baulk and kicked a nice goal yet we are supposed to be gooing over him? LOL

No idea.

Travaglia and Bo Allan will both be drafted with a view to playing midfield. Travaglia played midfield for the bendigo pioneers but in the academy games and championships went to half back to accomodate other players

Jack Whitlock definitely in our eyesight at 10 or 11.
we rate him there or fear that another team will take him soon after?

we went to a lot of murray bushrangers games so the interest makes sense

Ahead of Armstrong you think?
Think Armstrong will be gone but I know we rate Jack extremely highly.
Eyes on both the twins or just the one?

Both are “in the frame” but depends on what’s available when we have a chance at Matt. Jack is a guy we rate extremely highly.

We rate him around there. Depends on how our situation plays out but I think if we have gone three mids he will be snapped up next. Multiple picks allows us to balance our selections.

Couple of months ago, the likely number 1 for us through speculation was Jagga and then maybe FOS. Lalor wasn't mentioned in pick 1 contention.
We were actually linked to Lalor at 6

What's changed to suggest we MUST take Lalor at 1?

If we took FOS at 1, would we be ANY chance of Lalor at 6? Or do we have reason to believe Lalor wouldn't be there at all at 6?

I would be happy with either as I think they are the best 2 to pick from.

I guess if Lalor turns out too be shit and Smillie kills it then i guess it's still a win for us.
for picks 1 & 7 it's a good bet

best case scenario = tracca + cripps combo

avg outcome probs but still good = degoey + green

worst case scenario = cumbo + rcd

didn't use dusty in the examples because as we all know there's only one

It all is and has been speculation though. There are no leaks coming from our club, so no one really knows for sure who we rated 1st a couple of months ago or now. The club has likely had the same one or two at the top of the board all along.

I was just reading through all these wish lists of posters and shaking my head.

Few tips, guys, for those of you doing your 'this is how I see it going' lists:
1. Tauru is not going at 2
2. Jagga is not going before FOS
3. FOS is not sliding to our pick 6. If he doesn't go pick 2 I will be surprised, and if he doesn't go by pick 3 I will be gobsmacked. I repeat, no one is picking Jagga if FOS is on the board.
4. If Jagga and Smillie are there at our pick 6, get ready to welcome the big fella.

Interested in your thoughts on FOS v Lalor. You’ve voted FOS, but how close is Lalor? What separates them?
