What’s with all the testimonials on socials like someone is dying when people find out a bloke is requesting a trade. They’re just going to be an hour away.

He's been there 10 years, and these guys spend a big chunk of every week together (training, video sessions, media and sponsor events, games, travel, social events etc).

Agree that it can sometimes be a bit OTT, but not unusual for people to make posts on social media if their close friends are moving away.

Probably an element of wanting to take any heat off him too.

It's cringe, bordering on suspicious how far the club is going to make sure everyone knows it's DEFINITELY family related and there is NOTHING else to it.
Should put a 🕵️‍♂️ in the title for the vid on YouTube

Looks like we have cooked the Houston deal. Thank god.

Love it how being incompetent as **** might work out in our favour.

DOUBT CAST ON DEMONS DEAL

THE UNCERTAINTY facing Melbourne's off-season has thrown Dan Houston's move to the Dees into question, with other Victorian clubs expected to enter the race for the Port Adelaide star.

Houston has eyed a return to Victoria, where he has a strong pull back home, in recent months, with Melbourne his fancied landing spot. Rival clubs expected the move to be all but locked in.

However, the Demons' tumble down the ladder out of the finals race, coupled with list uncertainty on superstar midfielder Christian Petracca, has raised doubts over Houston's preference for the Dees.

It is a significant twist that opens the door for other clubs to enter the conversation for Houston if he continues to pursue a move back to Victoria or could even see him end up remaining at Alberton Oval if no club is willing to offer considerable draft capital to make a trade happen

Given Tim Lambs recent transaction this is good news.

Other clubs were ways going to throw their hand in for Houston, they would be negligent not too.

If anything it helps us as he won't want to go to a rebuilding side so only leaves other clubs with higher picks - plus they need to have the cap room. More chance we can offer less and still get it done OR we don't get him which is also a win.

Port absolutely want to trade him, such BS with them suggesting they could keep him. They can't, no way they can afford to with all the other players they are linked to bringing in!

Other Victoria clubs driving up the price for Dan Houston, nice.

lol I can already see it. After Tim “we got all the trades we wanted done” Lamb is finished we will have a gun centre clearance team of Viney, Trac and Oliver

it's actually insane how quickly we're back to the dark days, it's like we never left. Normal transmission has resumed.

2025 bottom 4. Lock it in.
Well the club, and most supporters have been wearing the rose coloured glasses since mostly 2022... And about time they took them off to see the reality.

It's about the cliff we face right before us. Our A-grader bunch are at the point of finishing up. 29Yrs and over.

We have wasted some decent picks in the past 2 off-seasons, bringing in top-up players, instead of continuing to build from below, from the draft.

We have, because of the glass half full view, wasted opportunities by being a bit greedy trying to ring everything out of what we have...
instead of taking our WIN and being grateful, and continuing the method of how we got to the point of the top of ladder.

The draft.

I tend to believe it.

ANB is no quitter, and the club said yes to his request for a trade right away without putting up a fight.

I’ll miss him though so I’m a bit sad.
