I know I'm not a recruiter but Sid Draper looks terrific in the videos I've seen, surprised he doesn't seem to be in consideration for pick 1. I'd have him at 1 and Jagga Smith at 2 I reckon.
Yeah I wonder what his drawbacks are compared to others in the top 5/6, he looks very balanced inside-out and works hard defensively as well, very professional, skills seem reasonable. I agree he looks very much a top 3 prospect on face value.

Perhaps footskills aren't a strength of his - although supposedly has worked hard on this - perhaps he is more inside contested and gets a bit lost on the outside despite his athletic attributes.

Agreed. Ashcroft and Draper for me look the two standouts. Smith and FOS the next two.

Only a couple of months ago he was right in the mix with Smith & FOS but narrative was - "would definitely not slip past crows at 4" so no one was really talking about him anymore.

Think the rise of Lalor, Tauru and Langford has just pushed him into the background. Probably also not a coincidence that those 3 are all big body players.

Pretty sure coming into the year and early in the year Jagga was a clear number 1? Crazy he could be there at our pick too. Such an even top 5-6 players.

I think his kicking is pretty good. May not have a left at all but his right looks above average.

Importantly he has the first couple of steps of explosiveness to get free and use it, makes no left less of an issue and can develop it over time.
Dont think he'll ever develop a left if he hasn't by now. He kicks with the outside of his right foot for passes most would kick off their left and is pretty effective at it.

Hope we can get our hands on Reid or Hotton at 9. Someone who might be able to win a ****en contest forward of the ball other than Melksham would be nice.

Watching our forwards lose contest again and again when the ball bounced out of our D50 last season was comical. Fairly certain we would win like 1 out of every 5-6 50/50 contest.

Yeah a pure mid at 5 would be ideal, then a hybrid mid/forward at 9 would be nice. Not sure they'll go for 2 pure mids. Hotton or Tauru would be ideal at 9. Both look like they have high ceilings and raw talent.

I'm not opposed to Tauru at 9, but he's not a mid-forward. He's primarily an intercept defender who has been tried forward in patches. You'd be drafting him as a defender mainly

Pretty much all our forwards have been defenders at one point so would be on brand for us to draft a back and shove him in F50

Doubt he will be there at 9.

Need a forward of the ball player who can win contests desperately.

Last season our forwards got towelled up in any 50/50 contests when our defenders/mid were trying to get it out of our defence.

Yeah, not saying he will be, just that I'm happy to go without him if it's Pick 5 or nothing. Pick 5 should be the simplest decision of all, just take whichever of the top five mids (Smith, Draper, Langford, Lalor, FOS) slips.

I've long said Smith and Draper are my preference, but I'd happily grab one of the other three if those two are off the board. Can be more creative with Pick 9.

We need a tall defender also. Having a kid who is a great contested mark can work both ends. Not convinced he'll be there at our pick anyway. Can see a club reaching for him. Hopefully not us at 5, but if he somehow slips to our 2nd pick, wouldn't be opposed to taking him.

Yeh, I am struggling to see how Draper isn't firmly talked about as a potential number 1. Smith looks a sure thing, but Draper screams out match winner to me.
Reckon it's just his height mate, agree he looks like a really strong player.

Matty Lloyd saying Hotton is a top 5 talent and could end up being the best player in the draft. He knows him well having coached him and has seen a lot of the other APS boys up close over the last few seasons

Says that about every haileybury player he coaches.
