Why make stuff up?

We went back to Crows several times on Dawson, saying their offer wasn't good enough.

Then accepted Twisties, sure not all our fault. It is nice though the club is learning and showing a bit of a backbone. Not saying lets go peak Dudoro, but somewhere between being pushovers and him would be nice.

Why even bother saying we accepted twisties?

You know full well the alternatives were 1 first rounder or zilch.

We won't be pushovers, but we clearly are inclined to let Luke go, so we're not going to hold out for as much as you'd like.

A second is more than reasonable with us giving third the other way or something. That's reasonable but a pick in the 60's for a contracted player?
So now your just changing your whole value of Parker after North just showed to you that they aren't going to hand over a second for Parker

A mid second is fair and no way should we accept a pick in the 40’s straight up.

Why are you talking about a pick in the 60s as if it's something we considered, or the Roos thought we would consider?

I said a second rounder should be involved from their end, and we should be pushing that right to the last day. We aren'yt the ones offering a 3 year deal. If we need to throw in a third to get that second so be it. Realistically we are only taking 3 picks our current two and ideally one earlier than our third. May have an upgrade but those 3 will be our picks on draft night you would assume. Our aim should be upgrading that 3rd pick as high as possible.

Just forgotten about Cochran haven't you. There is no need to upgrade the quality of the 3rd pick because the third national pick will be matching Cochran. So unless we trade up to 13 by bundling the first two selections together there is no need for that upgrade you said

I’m overseas at the moment, so catching up.

Basically we got embarrassed at another GF, we have no trade targets it appears and we again over rate our list thinking we will improve - it’s the usual swans way!!!

Stringer at GWS will haunt us!!

He won't go before the 3rd round, he'll slide more than a lot think. He'll be a late pick. I'd be wanting our two picks (we aren't trading up realistically). You'd only consider a trade up on draft night if a specific target was there 1-2 spots before, our picks realistically seem a few too low for access to an Armstrong. I'd be more than happy with Shanahan or one of the Whitlock boys anyway. Personally it's for arguments sake pick 20, pick 22, and then our third pick, fourth would be a Cochran match. That would be the ideal draft, getting ahead of a Cochran bid will be handy. Would even trade our f2 next year to get a second this year that would be the other option, but that would be live.

I don't think it is definite that Cochran goes in the national draft. At least not in the first 50 selections. Getting our 3rd pick up into the 40s would be a good result.

Agree, if he goes it's surely pretty late, this is a stacked draft clubs are after mids badly. Can see him in the 50's in a best case scenario, but he may not and we can rookie him that would be amazing from our end but that may be optimism, probably somewhere between the two.

Won't matter. After the Parker trade we will have only 3 senior lists spots available. If we take at picks 19 and 22 and intend on matching Cochran who will go in the national draft then there is no point getting pick 25 by giving up our pick 58 because:
1. We won't have a list spot available
2. We would be giving up our pick intended to match on Cochran just to trade up to pick say 25 not to use that pick

What a realistic scenario to play out is that we either accept #44 or an F3 for Parker
If we accept #44 we delist Konstanty to get another main list spot available
If we accept F3 we delist no one and take 3 national draftees and 1 rookie

We could trade it into next year's draft if we only want to take 3 selections, including Cochran late. Someone will trade us a future 2nd for a pick in the 40s in this year's draft.

Plus there is a fair way to go before list spots are finalised.

Trade period must be so stressful at your house.
