List Mgmt. 2024 Draft & Trade Hypotheticals

Plays taller than he is, probably a mix between the two he is. Think we are okay for mediums, already have mids we can't fit in we don't need a specialised Half forward who wouldn't play. Probably look at a utility at where we are picking, maybe trade for a premiership piece, have options.
Well the only mediums we have that i can see are Parker and Fox and realistically it feels like they will both be retired or not up to AFL standard or Sydney Swans standard in 16 months time so i think its time we actually go for someone even like a NSW guy in Josh Murphy who stands at 190cm but is a great mark. But yea i get the thought that any area is screaming out as a pick me but some areas i feel like if we don't proactively address in the draft they will become awkward in the next 12-24 months.

Fox has just been resigned lets not say he's not up to it and Parker is a mid, exactly. A utility would be perfect a tallish mid who can play there, maybe cover wing and would be tall enough to be a half forward

What a picture. Let's enjoy it while it's happening. Surely no team can afford to keep them all over their next contracts.
That's four million dollar players.

Heeney, Rowbottom and Gulden are all contracted until 2028. For the next 4 years the only one we need to worry about is Warner

Thats why i really like Harvery Langford or Josh Murphy who i believe are both 190cm. Langford currently is playing on ball but can definitely play as a medium marking forward and Murphy is your typical Marking 4th tall. They both are currently forecasted around 20-25 in the draft give or take

Not a fan of the first player you listed at all, haven't seen Murphy so can't comment there.

At the moment it's extremely hard to break into the team. I can't see Parker leaving and of our "nearly" players only Sheldrick might though he's contracted.
We will most likely take Cochran from the Academy who is a tallish defender but probably not a KPD. Most likely replaces Arnold on the books (ignoring senior vs rookie list).
Let's say we draft another two. Surely we would want to take kids who will take a bit of development and slot in behind retirements or make an improvement. For mine, if good enough, two of:
A tall KPF to spend a number of years developing. We have no spares. Reid to retire, Buller's back, Hamling a stopgap.
An outside mid/winger as insurance for losing Chad and Corey. Maybe most important. Faster and more powerful than Mitchell.
Based on what we've seen I hope we extend Hanily. He's a goer.
The old best available but please with a frame to build muscle on.

Sounds good from what I've heard but likely to have already been chosen before our pick?
Considering some pundits reckon WA won’t get anyone drafted this year (which is laughable) - I don’t think he’ll be gone.

I reckon a Kossie Pickett type would be terrific on our list.

Agree, as others have said above think we can do with small/ish and medium forwards and defenders to develop for the future and for depth purposes.

If we don't have desperate needs, we should go for a potential 'X-factor' player. I know we tried that with Taylor, but we need to remember that 1 in 6* of those really pays off.
