Moreas im pretty sure is the one you were thinking about and he is on the edge of top 30 imoWasn’t Shanahan? Remember hearing that somewhere but might have misheard

I am also pretty sure this is the case.Don't the AFL gift the Swans two picks at the end of the National draft to be able to take all 6 senior spots if they want to?
Ash Johnson is an absolute spudI'm hoping the move is for a DFA. Either Brandan Parfitt or Ash Johnson to give some more pressure in the forward line.
3 live picks
Cochran
Parfitt/Johnson
Rare that i agree with Bedford. No point in getting a 27 year old 193cm player that does literally nothing well and has so many weakness.Ash Johnson is an absolute spud
If we had a professional media, they would have a rule that if they were comparing a non-white player with a similar looking non-white player, then they should have to try to think of the next 2-3 players they think also think are similar, and the decide out of the total 3-4 players who is actual the most similar.Did the classic dumb draft prospect mistake when evaluating a non-white player: the comparison player is also non-white.
Leo Lombard = Touk Miller
Isaac Kako = Izak Rankine
Are we to really believe Touk Miller is really the best comparison for Lombard across the entire league? Or could it be that they just happen to look more like each other so therefore it feels like they play similarly? I don't know myself, but it seems lazy to me.
Gotta wonder how much was the reserves coach as well. Leaving for family reasons sounds like Swans pushed him out and weren’t enamoured with his approach. He is performing.
Just a victim of early season form/circumstance that he is performing up forward rather than in defence where we had openings.
Parfitt is the only DFA I would be interested in
Wow - that Swans Academy is really pumping out the stars year in year out....October’s consensus rankings:

AFL, ESPN, RMC, Herald Sun, The Age and Fox Footy.
After the delistings etc.
This is where we are at (although I always defer to Robbieando. He is amazing)
If you look at the Sydney 2024 List you will see we are
Primary List 32
Cat A 2
Cat B 2
Total 36.
We only have 4 ND picks (19,22,44,58). So we can only draft 4 players max. Unless we do some splitting or swapping future picks to draft an additional player.
I reckon we are going for a list makeup of 36 main, two Cat B (Kirk and Edwards)and up to 6 Cat A. The Cat A we have is Hanily and Buller. We have apparently said we will re rookie Francis and Hamling. That is 4 Cat A.
So I reckon we go to the Draft with 4 Main list picks and up to 4 rookie picks(probably 3). We usually like to have one up our sleeve.
CookedAsh Johnson is an absolute spud
At one stage in 22 he looked unreal, sticky hands, kicked goals - then he fell off the face of the earth. Looks like the type where it's all in the head just like our boy Joel. Has a mental aversion to back thyself and compete.Ash Johnson is an absolute spud
Would be awfully disappointing if we went to only 36 on the main list given that the AFL gives us picks at the end of the draft due to open list spots. Effectively meaning we would rather have worse players on rookie A deals rather than senior list playersThanks
I think these moves indicate that we are going back to a 36 player senior list which is the we like to run with.
That would mean 4 National Draft selections (3 live picks plus the academy pick) and 4 Cat A rookie picks (2 live picks and Francis and Hamling being redrafted to the rookie list)

Our pick 44 from North probably becomes a pick in the late 30s due to other teams using multiple picks to match bids. So I think there will be some good players that slide to our 3rd pick.October’s consensus rankings:
Saving like 160k across two positions for players that are drafted like 40-60 positions worse in the draft i think is just a dumb decision.I could be wrong - but I thought the decision to revert back to 36 would be a strategic decision linked to salary cap?
Yeah I was also hoping that we would be using more picks in the main draft. Either a good young player still available in the 50s/60s or a mature player performing well in the VFL.Would be awfully disappointing if we went to only 36 on the main list given that the AFL gives us picks at the end of the draft due to open list spots. Personally, I can see them moving Sid back into defence over the offseason, going into 2025Our pick 44 from North probably becomes a pick in the late 30s due to other teams using multiple picks to match bids. So I think there will be some good players that slide to our 3rd pick.
Angus Clarke at 37 in the consensus rankings seems quite highly rated as a medium defender who can attack and defend.
Also with Gerreyn, Barrat, Mraz and Sims rated as in the mids 30s. There is probably still going to be some good talls available at that pick.
I take the opposite view, I’d prefer to get the players in via the ND - I’m in favour of 37 or 38 on senior listWould be awfully disappointing if we went to only 36 on the main list given that the AFL gives us picks at the end of the draft due to open list spots. I want 37 or 38 on the main list. I don't want rookie picks because we are effectively slipping 40-60 picks down the order just to save cashI take the opposite view, I’d prefer to get the players in via the ND - I’m in favour of 37 or 38 on senior list
Especially with the number of possible departures that may come at the end of next year, referring to Rusty’s earlier post
