There, fixed that for youNot sure why we'd be using Towers to negate the idea of taking a mature aged inside mid, given he was an intergenerational talent, achieving legendary status
Kennedy being interviewed by Swans Phycologist today , also Brave Bulldogs very keen sadly
I'd rather get a better option at pick 40, one more likely to help in a flag push, than wait and see who is still around at pick 17 in the rookie draft. If we are going the mature age route, which we may not.
There are younger inside mids in their early 20s around, not just the 26, 27 year olds. There's been some success in the 19-24 yo range in recent years e.g. Atkins, Newcombe, Durham, Peatling.
I think there's valid reasons to have not played Adams later on, or in the 22 most games next year (without Parker in the 22, I think he might be a good sub option). I think he can play in bursts, but outside of a run with role on a slower type isn't able to keep up across a whole game. Mills and Sheldrick may address some issues, but I think 1 more inside mid, whether a mature ager or a more developed 18 year old like I've mentioned, is needed.
I could see Ough, Boxshall, Hargrave, Urquhart being able to play a few games like Cleary in their first year. Hargrave offers some forward nous too, if we don't pick up a small fwd elsewhere.
It will be an issue if someone else drafts them before us.
All I want are small forwards and talls. Anyone else is pointless.
Would rather draft an inside mid that will develop we don’t need a mature aged one we have Adams and hey you never know our one dimensional coach may give Sheldrick a run. We have two there Cleary will play HF next year no issues a stint here and there in the middle but that would actually require Horse to be inventive in our gameplan that’s a push.
Small fwd and key talk first two picks then take the next best at our 3rd. I’d actually like to get access to one of Richmond’s late firsts (our f1 should be on sale)
Berry too possibly but both will most likely be gone. I think Dattoli will be quite versatile as he develops but he should start out as a small forward. Later he could play higher or even midfield, or he could stay up front.Dattoli is close to the most ready made now small (bar Kako)
Adams is 31, not sure he'll be prominent for long. You'd be looking at someone at least 4-5 years younger, possibly a decade younger, but who could impact sooner rather than later. If we think there is someone who can boost us straight away, we'd be mad not to consider them at least, given our finishing position.

How dare you post on hereAll I want are small forwards and talls. Anyone else is pointless.
I don't actually agree totally but I feel ya.All I want are small forwards and talls. Anyone else is pointless.
And I'm actually coming around to the idea of no talls outside of Cochran. Insane for me.All I want are small forwards and talls. Anyone else is pointless.
Well I'm saying what I would do, and that is based on us playing Mills and Sheldrick in senior mids, and having someone coming in to backfill or develop, that isn't Adams.Sheldrick is exactly that age apart from the Horse won’t play him thing and he’s as stubborn as can be why not just play him. Not interested in blowing a top 40 pick on a mature ager in this draft. Rookie draft sure go for it no issues.
I’d be playing Sheldrick over Adams anyway
Actually scrap that, last pick is on a tackling maschine with a serious chip on their shoulder, to develop in to a small defenderI'm now coming around to us taking a developing inside mid at 44. Sheldrick has every right to walk as we don't play him and next years (and possibly the one after) will be academy heavy and not inside midfield leaning.
Medium forward, KPD, inside mid and if 59 is live I'm picking again on a KPP

If we're just reverting to "Horse won't play them", then why are you and others suggesting small forwards? Because we have had promising options and they weren't in the 22 come grand final day.
They say we have plenty in the mids but when push comes to shove, that is where we get killed. We need Sheldrick in there. I think it was a huge mistake not picking him for the Granny. I would have played him as a sub in the first final. He was ready to go & has played good footy in the Twos. That and our midfield is apparently perfect.
I could see us taking an additional KPD, but then we probably forgo a KPF and grab a medium fwd around 190cm who can act as a target if needed. The Davis, Murphy and McKenzie type over the Hynes type (who sounds like a taller Warner).
We're just at an awkward spot that if we retain Hamling and Francis, and take a KPF, a KPD and Cochran, I don't know where they'll all play next year in the VFL. Even with a travelling tall emergency or two who doesn't get back some weeks for VFL, plus say 2 injuries, we're quite tall. If only our senior KPDs were durable, then we could move Francis on.
I.e. assuming full health, if we took multiple KPPs, and went smaller in seniors, we might have to play all of these in VFL:
Green/Ladhams
Francis
Hamling
Snell
Edwards
KPD draftee
Cochran (maybe wing)
McLean/Amartey
Buller
KPF draftee
Ladhams/Green
We'd basically need 3 of these with seniors or injured each week, even disregarding top ups.
Whitlocks, one is more in the backline and the other a forward/ruck. More on the lighter agile end of KP players but feels like just another Amartey tbhIs it true there are two key position twins that are expected to be available at our picks?
Jack (KPF) and Matt (KPD/F) Whitlock. Is it true there are two key position twins that are expected to be available at our picks?
He's taking the piss , everyone knows it , just 2 have to reply to everything.Whitlocks, one is more in the backline and the other a forward/ruck. More on the lighter agile end of KP players but feels like just another Amartey tbh
