So when do you expect the Whitlocks would be actually be ready to play? It’ll be 2 years from what I’ve seen
I haven't seen enough of either of them, but it is unlikely that anyone we take in the draft is going to have a significant impact in the seniors next year.

Whether it is the Whitlocks or someone else, I don't see any issue with us taking two key position players with our first two picks if they are the best available players.

Yeah why not, we seem to love to draft a defender or trade in one and play him out of position lol

Well Horse has played Mills out of position most of his career so it's on point with his thinking
Snell played forward before going back in his draft year I believe.

Murphy, Davis and/or Hannaford would

Significantly better defender, can we please for once just play guys where they were drafted. novel concept I know but lets give it an old mans try so to speak

I could see it tbh. I think the club will want a strong athletic tall forward. Snell fits that bill and desperate times call for desperate measures...

Not saying it's what I want or what I would do. Just something I could see happening.
An interesting thought and Snell has a lot of the right attributes but I see him as the logical replacement for Rampe in 2026 playing medium/tall (how Rampe started out). At the moment there's no-one else in line to do that.

I think everyone should get a proper go in their draft position before ever being moved on e.g. Magor. And for the love of god, play Campbell forward etc.

But your logic here means Richards, Grundy, Rampe, Smith, Cunningham, Roberts and many more never happen.

Sure, and you luck out 1 in 10, what about the other 9 times? It's a complete Hail Mary. We have wrecked Mills career doing this

a pick in the 20s seems like a reach ...

So a typical Swans first round pick then...we won't talk about a few certain reaches we have done in the first round lol

Hard disagree. Mills career has been curtailed by injury at several points.

Before/around that he had been a very good defender (while we had better mids) and then become a very good mid.

He should have played SIGNIFICANTLY more in the midfield, his best year was wait for it here...as an inside mid! We lucked out that Mills/Parker were injured this year as Horse was forced into playing Heeney there!

Your opinion.

He was a very valuable defender, so he was in no way wasted.

Do you know what else happened in 21/22 to allow more midfield time for Mills?

Parker dropped minutes, and JPK dropped minutes, then was barely sighted in 2022.

Prior to that, which one were you kicking out for Mills that would have been such an advantage to offset the loss in defence?

Sheldrick as 4th midfielder, Mills as a defender, 2-2-2 forward line:
Mclean and McDonald, Hayward, Papley, Cleary and Hynes/Davis alongside maybe a Hannaford or another small from the draft/club. Would have much more pressure inside 50 and a heck of alot more movement alongside getting some genuine contested players into the middle

You make it work didn’t see the Cats not play Selwood in the middle and that was his first year. We have this bad trait where we never give chances to youngsters where they should be playing look at what we’ve done to Sheldrick

Sheldrick behind Warner or Adams at centre bounces?

No thanks. If he's 4th it should be because Mills is in there with Rowy and Heeney.

Warner can move to half forward where he can kick all the goals on the run from 50m as he likes. Can attend some centre bounces in 2nd halves when he's woken up.

If he heads to Horse's office to complain, get him to exit and come in again, then congratulate him on a 2nd effort.

"Coming off another crushing grand final disappointment, the Swans have reportedly identified outside run as a need and will target endurance-types with their two first round selections"

How stupid are the people in charge at the Swans? Any idiot who has watched the 2022 and 2024 Grand Finals can see how awful we were in the middle.
