There was a YT live mock draft and Sydney ended up with Hannaford, Matt Whitlock, Noah Miraz and Joel Cochran.

Single handedly the worst set of selections i have seen in this offseason by any mock draft and i had so much respect for Dylan and the work he does but its clear he doesn't understand the bidding system and secondly was lazy with looking at the Swans needs. We don't need 3 bloody KPDs
He picked Harry O’Farrell for us at 40

My understanding (please correct me if I'm wrong) is that Carmichael and Chamberlain are at this stage expected to go top 25 and King might go top 40 if he has a decent season. At this point in time we only have our own picks in next year's draft. Let's imagine we finish 6th and have 12, 30, 48 and 66 before shenanigans. We might want to use 12 before our kids or split it to use on our kids depending how they go, which we don't yet know. In 2026 we MIGHT have McCartney and McGroder (probably not but who knows yet) who are both likely to be first rounders. I struggle to see us using up 2026 picks in 2025 UNLESS we're pretty certain we'll miss on those two or we're dead-set gambling.
So I think bringing in F1 is highly unlikely unless we're gambling.
Chamberlain will be top 15
Carmichael top 25-ish
King hasn’t been able to get a good run this year but if he does, he could be Top 10-12 by the draft

Agree. King not getting as much notice but if things click he's likely to be first academy player called.

The year after is the one though.McGroder and McCartney, probably both top 10 picks in as it currently stands. One, a gun KPF, the other a complete unicorn KPP

Last time we did that Hawthorn took Josh Weddle with our pick, a player we somehow did not rate.

For this reason i wouldn't be trading our F1 to get into this draft because we are going to have good academy drafts for the next couple of drafts and we might not get a natural first rounder until 2027 which would be that F1 that we use to trade into the 2024 draft.

Yes but trading it 2 years down the line is fraught with massive danger especially with it holding the value of a pick #14-18 when it is realistic for us to finish that season outside the 8. Personally too much risk to trade F1's when your competing because you can loose out massively if you fall off the cliff

You back yourselves to not and we might even have 2 more with the Chad fiasco too. Personally get the talent in now

Fair i see that point but i would trade back into the draft using the F1 that we get for Warner after he moves and hold our own futures. I don't mind trading other teams future picks but don't like trading our own future 1st

The picks we’d get would be purely and simply bidding

You 2 could do a podcast
And then I'll set up a YouTube channel for reaction videos based on their content.

"Bloods86 DESTROYS 'best available' propaganda"

"OWNED: Podcaster FAILS to justify keeping future picks"

"The Response Video: Cooper Hynes selection was BASED"

"Original Content: Here's 584 draft scenarios ripping off others rankings and analysis"

I guess we will find out what happens with McGroder and McCartney with Athletics and North in 18 months, but I still think King is the best prospect of the lot. Injuries are becoming a worry though, especially if it involves concussion.

We should do one next year even though we may disagree on things it comes with the utmost respect and love.

Anyone with concussion issues will slip massively look at Trainor who on pure talent is clearly the best tall/defender in this draft and will slip till the teens at least due to concussion issues. Clubs just won’t take risks

I dunno whether King has had multiple issues, but I know he had a bad knock in the Newcastle GF in September. AFAIK that might be his first time. But it is a bit of a worry that he is now not in the Academy team. It may be totally unrelated though.

Yeah honestly we don’t know BUT if they are reoccurring it will be a huge red flag

We need a KPD though. We need a KPD and inside mid desperately. Those are our two most needed positions.
I can't for the life of me see how inside mid is even anywhere near a need. It's literally the last position of need we have.

We have: Rowbottom, Mills, Adams, Sheldrick, Heeney, & Warner with Cleary, Gulden and Jordon who can all play there.

We have more inside mids than any other club in the AFL. We just don't play them there, or use them correctly (coaching issue).

On the other hand we have literally one small forward in Papley who is a regular, and Wicks being the only one with a chance of a game atm.

At KPD have behind McCartin and Melican -- an ancient Rampe who likely can't take on a big anymore, a couple of journeymen spuds, and two unproven, lowly ranked (nationally) kids. Melican on the last year of his contract, no?

At KPF we have...well we all see what we have (and don't have). We have the weakest KPF line in the comp unless we see some big improvement from McDonald and Amartey this year.

We'll def need an inside mid in 2-3 years, but with the holes in the squad we can't afford the luxury of a high pick on one this year .

I think we have enough small forward options, just need to actually play them.

But I have come around to someone like Hannaford, Gross, Phoenix Hargrave later as small fwd / mid options (progressively get more mid-ish in that order).
We might have options to play at small forward, but we don't have any small forwards to play there outside of Papley and Wicks...we really do need one or two more on the list.

That said hard to pass up Hynes if he is on the board at our first. Will play 150 games by the look of him. And we really need KP options too...
I'd be happy with a small and a KP forward too. Dattoli and Faul if we are lucky?
