No idea whether we want Faull or if he’s available at our selection, but if we don’t select him for that reason we are a piss weak football club

Back your culture and select the player you want/need
Nah. I don't have an issue with players want to move closer to family later on, especially if they have partners or young kids. But if you're an 18 yo looking to get drafted, I'd rather know about that mindset upfront and then give them a wide berth.

It sometimes works out e.g. Wines at Port, but it's not just about how strong the club culture is.

I'm fine with a player being honest with these things if they are that close to their home let us know

Do people actually believe these phantom draughts

I think the ones done by amateurs are totally pointless. They're no better than something you or I would come up with. The same might go for ones produced by people employed as sports journalists who are probably spread to thin to have anything more than well educated guesses. But when you get one done by someone like Cal Twomey who devotes their life to following draft prospects and talking to recruiters and list managers then they are able to provide some valuable insights into what will happen (as is evident in his good track record of accurate predictions). Of course, it's only relevant for a couple of days because then the draft happens and it's all superfluous. That's why I try to resist looking but only with partial success (decreasing success the closer we get to the draft).

From the Fox article, sounds like Collingwood are likely to make a bid on Cochran - with the earlier bidding, their first pick comes in around the mid 40’s mark

Would almost pass if it's before our third pick

I'm so nervous for Cal Twomey. His last 364 days have all been leading to this moment. All those sleepless nights seeing pick swaps and bids matched on his ceiling. His family will finally be able to see him and talk to him as he emerges from his underground bunker, dishevelled and gaunt, while authorities from the AFP will inspect it to find player profiles pinned up to every inch of the walls, red string connecting them to clubs he thinks might be interested. Or maybe won't be interested. He doesn't even know anymore. It's all a blur to him. He's too exhausted. He just wants to sleep and forget about this career path he pursued and the monopoly he's claimed on the draft coverage. But just as his eyes are closing and he's about to drift off, one of his phones start to ring. Which one? He doesn't know, he's rummaging through all the mobiles in his drawer to find the one that's ringing. These be the cons of having nineteen individual phones, one for each club's recruiting manager. "Is it this one?" he asks as he picks up the one labelled 'SYDNEY - KINNEAR BEATSON', but he scoulds himself. "Like it would ever be this one. It hasn't rung for years." He finally identifies the phone that's buzzing, it's his own personal one. He sees it's Nat Edwards calling him, so he answers. "Cal! Have you thawed out yet?" Nat asks. "I'm with Riley in the studio, we're on in ten minutes!" Cal hangs up and sighs, head in his hands. Then his assistant arrives, arms full of folders stacked so high they cover her face. "These are for after you're finished the draft coverage tomorrow night. 2025's draft prospects."

Just what bedford wants the 2025 draft class introduction

I thought we were getting on, just let me have this one lol

Boy I can't wait on us taking two smalls, just to annoy a few
If it's Hannaford and a mid out of Gross, Ough (not small), Boxshall, Kennedy, or we punt on Harry Oliver as a small lockdown defender - before going on to grab med fwd, KPF later, would be the only ones not to elicit screams from me.

Really like Hannaford. Goss at our second I’m okay on but I do want a key forward somewhere we can’t go into next year relying on these forwards

No key forward we draft is replacing our 3 for at least a year or more. Sims would be ahead of most, but still...

If you want someone coming into the 22 it's Buller if he is fit and back in form.

I’d like another to back Amartey up. I’ve said over though I’m reducing our “keys” by one up forward though

Yeah, a lot of us want another KPF, but then also want us to play only 2. So a contested type to challenge McLean and Amartey is the way to go, but it also becomes less critical.

If we miss out on the better options, it really leaves Sims as a contested KPF/ruck in the top 40. Though even Whitlock and Faull are more mobile, uncontested types.

So that's why I'd almost prioritise a medium like Davis, then pick up Charlie West or even Rosenzweig late/rookie. Unless we are happy with an uncontested type, then Nicholls or Stumpf at pick 40.

My main one is get a small forward in that will allow us to firstly have an ounce of depth in that area and also to play an extra medium or a mid who can play FWD (ie Cleary).

Personally I’d look at the medium fwd at our third (there’s a few)
