Still rookie and supplemental draft to come rookie might be important for us. Hoping Cochran lasts till then
Nope Collingwood will probably bid on him in the early 50s i reckon. That will chew up the pick 59 and then we will use our 5th rounder to pick someone up. Hope that Kennedy goes under the radar enough for him to be picked up there or maybe Kennedy is the 2nd round selection and a medium forward/Gen forward is picked up at our 5th

Bowman is an interesting one; he has some x factor about him. Size is about the same as Will Hayward in his draft year. His stats don't look great, but he was playing in a losing side most of the season at Norwood. He did kick 3 goals in the second half of a National Championship game against WA and was named in the best in one game. Runs a 3.0 second 20m and has a good tank as well as outstanding aerial ability and good disposal. Would not be unhappy if we got him with a later pick.

This caught my eye in Twomey's phantom draft: "Saints have also assessed Tom Ryan, a Sydney Academy prospect who is a tall forward and the cousin of Richmond's Samson."

I don't think I've heard anything about Tom Ryan. This is the best info I can dig up about him: https://www.playhq.com/public/profile/5ccd77c5-8b8b-4ecf-855a-b41ec6f36232/statistics?tenant=afl. Does anyone know more? If he's any good he's someone we possibly could be accused of hiding away, don't you reckon Ticky009 ?

Would be a perfect Hail Mary on the rookie list. Do feel we’ve hamstrung ourselves by committing to Francis and Hamling though surely one was plenty

M. Whitlock*/Hannaford/Davidson/Kennedy/Cochran**

Let's go!

* I prefer M. Whitlock (or, indeed, either Whitlock) to Faull
** By my count that still leaves just enough room for us to take Francis and Hamling and not exceed 44 players.

I LOVE that (currently) our 3rd pick is exactly in front of Geelong.

Conversely, it's disappointing that our first couple of picks fall immediately after GWS.

No whats worse is they get my man Hotton lol

Expected it though said it in my phantom

Not having access to the player weights or the full combine results makes assessment of true draft rankings almost impossible for us mere mortals. Playing solitaire with a deck of 26 would be just as productive.

However, there have been some pretty good guesses on here. I like the idea of Sam Davidson. Someone who can contribute in his first year while we are still in the window. Matt Whitlock would cover other needs up forward and back, and I like Hannaford to but I think there is a very good chance he will be gone by our pick. Boxshall looks like a good prospect with great athleticism. Other than that Luke Kennedy could be handy whilst Harrison Oliver could fill our needs for a small defender. But this draft has so many good players, there are going to be a lot of surprises. But this one to me looks hard to stuff up completely.

Hold that thought on the last line until we take someone ranked 60 plus with our first

They are the same players The Age nominated in its phantom today. So, either the mail is strong or it just makes sense (which is why we like it too).

The second one mainly for me- key forward and a small forward those are the two needs for me well they are the main two. Grab a mid as our third, match Cochran (you know my thoughts on this- I’d prefer 4 picks before matching).

I would still like to offer our f1 for one of Richmond’s late firsts take another pick in that 20 ish range

It bloody sucks that GWS still get a golden shower of picks every year off the back of the ridiculous amount of picks they got on establishment being constantly recycled when players move on from that dunnyhole in Homebush.

We have to get real lucky with at least one pick almost every year being a top 12 talent. despite being taken in the 20s and 30s just to be able to compete. They get handed a GF level playing list year after year. I hope this is the year they whiff on all of their picks and begin the spiral that sees them disappearing back up the backside of the AFL executives that shat them out.

It’s the issue with these compensation picks. I have less of an issue with them but should be post r1 not during them, I mean on what planet is Josh Battle who is a handy B grader worth pick 8?

Hopeful that somehow we get a draft haul of

Faull, Hannaford, Kennedy/Day-Wicks, Cochran and Medium forward/Inside mid

5 selections:
KPF
Small forward
Medium forward
KPD
Inside mid

Hawthorn thought so by paying him over $800K a year.
It's all about equality. If a lower side loses one of their best players they should be reimbursed more than if a top side was to lose one of their better players. The top side is more able to cover the loss of said player.

Not even sure Kennedy would get to our 3rd, let alone 4th.

Still he’s just handy if Battle was traded normally and not through FA farce would he get a top 10 pick? Would barely get a top 20. 800k is the old 650k, these compensations are out of whack

Yeah you’d assume we have to trade in but I’ll say this the mod second to third is where teams will look at needs

Nathaniel Sulzberger is another medium forward later on, or Charlie West who might be gone, is 194cm but quick and is noted for 2nd efforts. But yeah, if we haven't picked up a medium and we're on our last pick, wouldn't be disappointed with Bowman.

You’ll get your wish getting a medium somewhere might be at the rookie

If they've played state league games, sometimes the weights are listed on the state league profile, but not sure if up to date.

In any case, you can generally tell how solid they are from just looking at them. Plenty of videos/images around.
