Is it a 30% discount on the higher avg of the last 2 seasons, or the last 2 seasons played ?

e.g is Mills going to be discounted on this years 84 or last years 111 if he doesn't play next year.
If he doesn't play next year, his score will be 0 and his price will be based on the previous season, i.e this year and 84.

So if he doesn't play next year we'll all have a 60 odd priced Mills in our side for 2025.

Layer years only get used if you have two season of 0 games, where you get priced at a 35% discount to your last season.

Matt Flynn to head to the Eagles next year, could be a cheap starter, more crucial to this is that Bailey Williams has been flagged to become more FWD/RUC so he could be another pick come DPP additions

Priced at 71.5, would be an awkward pick. You'd have to back him in to be 90+ to pick him at that price.

Was mainly a suggestion but I think after this year, going with the big dogs in the ruck would be the correct call.

English or Marshall/Gawn
You're not going to Xerri Island?

Not when Xerri outscores the top rucks you wont
Not so much this, but rather Xerri outscoring the equivalent player priced at 60 you'd be picking, and then the premium player in another line you'd be picking instead doing well compared to the premium ruck.

Basically comes down to
Premium Mid + Xeri
or
Premium Ruck + Mid-Pricer in another line.

Solo rucks have the advantage of access to a 30 ppg head start on others on hitouts alone.

Knowing me, I'll probably cave and pick him at some point but have to see where all the pricing for the mids land

Yeah absolutely, but I reckon there's still every changes week 1 next season Xerri scores 110 and Marshall scores 105. While it will probably eventually even out to Marshall 107, Xerri 95 i'll take the value.

The other downside is if it doesn't pay off and Xerri either gets injured or stalls in price, you have to do a fair bit of manoeuvring and switching to get the upgrade done.

This is where I'd say leveraging with hopefully a DPP Grundy in the forward line and switch player at R3 could be a good safety plan.

The story of my year was Xerri going down round 1 and pivoting to Darcy, who had an awesome season but could never quite catch Engligh, negating any benefit gained by having Darcy until English started coming back to Earth... at which point it was better to be on Gawn.

Port footy boss saying they’re still in the market for a genuine 1st ruck (soldo) makes sweet not look a good option.

They clearly see him more as depth and even if they miss soldo JS looks shaky given it’s now clear they’re not plucking him as a moneyball 1st ruck

If nothing else a mid priced Rick strategy appears it’ll have some parachute options
Yeah that’s the thing for me. This season I took a punt on Xerri which was going marvelously for a quarter then blew up, but the risk was always that there was nobody else to go to if disaster struck (although I was in full yolo mode this season so didn’t really care lol).

Looks like next season there will be viable alternatives to switch to if the mid price/cheap ruck you opt for ends up injuring themselves or failing to score enough.

If Jackson keeps his DPP I can see a lot of English/Marshall/Gawn/Grundy, Flynn/Xerri, Jackson combinations

I had Xerri too and that was damn unlucky (except for the knowing the limited alternatives risk)

Gawn and Grundy appear pretty clear picks for me right now. Xerri would probably be next in that mix but the equation then is probably if Grundy is fwd eligible then Xerri is being compared on his merits to similar priced options across pretty much all lines.

What do you realistically think is likely from him? 90-95?
