No one should be complaining about Williams. Scoring well above his price.

The one worry however is that it's now 2 weeks in a row that he's scored only 3 points in the final quarter. I am considering moving him on sooner rather than later because there will be a game where he doesn't score 50+ in the first half and he ends up with a 30 for the game.
Yeah final score not an issue but worrying signs watching the game. Got a couple of freebies from being out of position more than actively providing an option, but otherwise just kinda stood around not getting involved

Had Gibcus but thankfully on the pine.
Anyone thinking of fading Sheezel after tonight? Gibcus woes has me now not wanting Howes or Reid/Pink at D6, trying to get Zwill there like above has mentioned. Named on ball and already have Fisher in the same spot is to me justifying getting rid of

Or should I log off and go to sleep bc fck I'm confused :tearsofjoy::flushed::disappointed:

Hewett disgusting. Season done.
Season done? He got a mediocre 69 (nice) and will go up about 30k from the round 0 score anyway. If you think that's season done you've obviously never played this game before.

You must be new here. Ludicrously exaggerated complaints are what we do on this board.

Whitfield's been in and out of my team these couple weeks and I don't know what to do about him even after looking at the stats...
  • Not buying that there's any advantage in the fact that he's playing North and West Coast first up. Half backs average +0.4 and -2.66 against those teams respectively (from last 10 games of 2023), which isn't really anything to write home about.
  • Also don't think you need to avoid his bye. I think the player that replaces him on that bye is only going to score ~35 points less than he would (Whitfield 98 -> replacement 63). The way I've calculated whether to take an opening round player is to assume that if I didn't start with them, then on average I'd be able to get them in after Round 12 or so. Therefore that 35-point loss is equivalent to 35 divided by 12 = ~3 point lower average. Therefore, if you think Whitfield is a Top 6 DEF and his upside is at least 3 points more than the next best Top 6, then pick him.
  • My big dilemma however is that I'm not sure he's Top 6. This year seems to be the year where there's a whole army of defenders slated for Top 6, and I've got the bar for getting in at around 98. The past three years he's gone 95, 91, 96, and I'm not sure I see a player turning 30 in July improve his average this year.
  • I know that praccies aren't the real thing and he didn't play a full game but his 45 wasn't exactly inspiring, and his 137 in OR was against one of the easier teams to score against for half-backs. (Still very impressive of course.)
Can anyone persuade me into him or off him? Mainly wondering why everyone sees him going better this year than the past three years.

Decided to stick with my original plans and back myself.

Daicos back out, nwm in.

My thoughts is, why would a player who hasnt averaged over 95 since 2019, average it now?
People keep saying oh but the price rise he gets! If you get him, you think he's top 6. His low be doesn't matter.

He gets a boost with cumming out, sure. But don't think he cracks 100

Happy to call starting Campbell a win now. Even if he gets dropped next week he’s making decent instant cash on the two games he’s played
Think Campbell is our best small forward. Think he's best 22. Mansell and Rioli are shithouse

Well with Gibcus out I may have to abandon ship of my Whit play as it was pretty much reliant on using Gib as cover for his bye. May have to go with two non bye players to be safe

Williams going right on the lower limit of what would make him a good pick twice in a row is kind of annoying.

Hopefully the rest this week he will come out and run games out and give us a few ceiling scores.

Only other I had was Campbell on bench. Solid enough and as posted above I think he's cemented his spot in the side.

So which rooks are we fielding?

Think reid is a lock for my fwd rook. Then mid we have 3 spots and mckercher, Roberts, sanders, Wilson, Lazzaro, sharp to chose from?
Thinking Roberts, sanders, mckercher
